Axles for a 8" ?

A friend needs a set of aftermarket axles (28 spline) for his 67 Mudstain, what are the options ?

This will be a mild street car with aprox. 400 H.P. max.

I just can't see drilling and tapping the stock puny axlas for 1/2" studs......

Moser or Strange axle would be good for his application. Average cost is around $395.00 with new sealed ball bearings and studs.
