Thanks guys, I was pretty happy with him to say the least.. But no kidding about the cull. He was just an old mean ass 8. At least 4.5 years old. All he was good for was eating and tearing up bigger racked deer.

hey EZ if you don't mind me asking, where do you hunt? with a cull buck that size I'm just curious. that sucker would be considered big around here cuz everybody shoots the first basket rack they see. luckily we have grown some decent deer by letting the little guys walk, but as soon as they cross the property line its all over

SB LX,
Man I know all to well what you are saying. I live in MS and do a lot of hunting here. But to kill and see big racked deer we travel to the Mid West. Ill, IA, MO those states, and I'm thinking about going to OH next year.. If you've never been to Mid West on a hunt, its something else. Don't get me wrong we kill some nice deer here around the house, but they ain't nothing like the giants of the mid west..

Just curious. Was this a free-range hunt or on high fenced property? Either way, that is a healthy set of horns!

i hear ya man. I've been wanting to go away for a big deer hunt. I just don't wanna shoot something huge cuz then I will be dissapointed at all the deer around here. lol I just wish P.A. would go a different route with deer management cuz what we have now sucks. hell I'm 5 minutes from M.D. and them guys are plowing big deer. a 150 is getting common less that 30 minutes from me but we gotta look at scrub bucks. don't get me wrong, we have some big deer where I'm at, but they are few and far between or laying in somebodys back yard. I've been hunting a 150 class 10pt for 3 years with no luck. I've been luckey enough to shoot nice bucks around here but nothing huge. the pics I have on here are what we consider "normal big" around here. poaching is another huge problem especially when people know you have nice deer. we hear shots all the time at night, mainly where the big 10 is. we try to manage as much as we can but we can't control the nieghbors. I won't shoot a buck unless its at least 15 inches wide or around there.

Huh, No on the high fence. I actually killed that deer on public land that bordered a farm we were hunting.. So yeah he was pretty free range, well I say that, he was going where every the doe was going he was with.
