Ya we need a good monthly 1/4 mile drag radial race
Ya we need a good monthly 1/4 mile drag radial race
That would be cool. Just D/R cars once a month. Rules
No twins LOL
325 bring it on a stock suspension.
So every one could come.
Fiberglass and lexon OK.

I'm from upstate NY and MIR is a long way. My cars not finished yet but would be nice to have a closer place to race than down there. How bout a small block with an F3M at 2850? :-D

Yes but what about them small block NOS guys? Also what about letting in ladder bar cars? They dont seem to be getting better 60ft. You have a couple of NMRA SSO cars around that could run with a D/R on the car. Also help out with car counts? $150 to get in the race winner takes all once a month
:-D:-D:-D:-D

the shakedown rules are fine for the blower and turbo guys. But the small block nos cars should be run what ya brung at least until theres some solid data to adjust the rules by. Is there any real advantage with having ladder bars anymore? The stock suspension cars can more than hold their own against the bar cars. No weight breaks for suspension type. Also the big block nos cars should get a break also. whats the fastest nos car gone on a radial tire big or small block? I dont know what the weight break for a big block was at the shakedown but if this is gonna be a 7.40 or faster field they need a lil more than they got there i think. Just my opinion dont mean much.

i agree there should be no weights for SB NOS .....or possibly let them run slicks and wheelie bars if need be. Ladderbars in at a 50# weight penalty .....BB nos cars in at 3100 TTSB 3200 TTBB 3400 BB blower 3200

i think this would draw more cars then the old quick 8 :smt102

I THINK so also. Rules and weights look good.
Ladder bars would let more cars come out and play.
3 NMRA SSO cars showed up at shakedown and I think none of them went faster then 7.60-70s.
So the NMRA cars could stay the same just add 50 pounds for L/B:cool:
Look at this
Drag radial tires only - maximum 12" measured tread width
LOWER ENGINE CONTAINMENT DEVICE:
Oil Retention Device: Device may be custom-built ballistic blanket-style or metal-style (I.e., bucket) device. Pan must attach to the frame via conventional fasteners or straps. Pan must be a minimum of 3inches above ground. They do not have to be SFI rated. Transmission – all styles are allowed
Ladder bar and stock style suspension allowed – No wheelie bars (Direct bolt on replacement parts or added bolt-ons such as slapper bars OK). Car must have stock rear frame rails (notching OK for tire clearance)

The engine pans or diapers are a good idea. saves a ton of down time. The only thing i would like to see changed is the passenger seat. Do they really need to be there? What about the people that have an intercooler mounted ther or the tubing that goes to the coolers mounted in the back seat area. I'd hate to have to put another seat in the car just to cut it up to get the tubing through it. These aren't street cars anymore. The stock looking interior is a must and entire passenger area must be carpeted. Also what about alcohol allowed as a fuel if no intercooler is used? This could be what mine ends up being im up in the air about that yet. Also what about the water/meth injection that can be sprayed in to the front of the supercharger(some people have this set up and also dont run intercoolers).
Just a lil more food for thought.
alcohol I think would be fine. Maybe add some weight for the people that say IT MAKE MORE POWER
I do like the L/B deal with 50 pounds with stock rails in the back.
Also the stock front clip in the front. Rad mount no big deal.

Yes definetly stock front clip. Nothing removable except the hood. Carbon fiber/fiberglass bumper covers allowed. as well as trunk and or hatch. My car has the stock doors so it dont matter to me if carbon/glass doors are allowed. This should draw a ton of cars. The rules are wide enough to allow alot to race but tight enough it should be a GREAT show. Only other thing. Would it be a 16 or 32 car field? And another thing is there time in RP's schedule to fit this in once a month?
Oh one more lil thing. Limit the cars with twins to 10lbs of boost!!! LMAO:SHTF
What rules are you looking at?

I was just makin a joke about the cars with twins being allowed 10lbs of boost. I was also just stating that there should be no cars with removable front ends. (Manny buginga's car i think had stock front clip but his entire front end is removable if he wants.). Just thought that would be important to address. Alot of the SSO cars run carbon fenders and doors dont they? I'm not sure dont really pay alot of attention to the nmra.
No fenders or doors. Just the hood, deck lid and hood. Steel front clip that can remove is fine. Dont want to scratch the paint. LOL
This class wont happen anyways.

Yea it's to good to be true. never can catch a break up here. All the good stuff happens down below jersey. we get $h!t on up here. There is always Lebanon Valley we could try. Howie might go for that if he can make a few bucks. LOL.
They just paved the track at LVDW. We could ask to try something on a sat. They do bikes in the valley.

when did they pave it? I was there for king of the hill( big mistake, not a good bracket racer. LOL.) Yea that might happen.

how about maple grove?

It would be nice to get a small series goin with some of the tracks here in the area. Maple grove is a hike for us new yorkers but its do-able. still closer than cecil or mir.

A northeast radial series would be nice. Say etown, lvd, ned, maybe atco?

12-31-2008, 09:12 AM
atco has a 275 series ;) cecil rules are along the same lines. i wouldn't hold your breathe for etown.
outlawDR85
01-01-2009, 12:48 PM
Yea etown would be the hard one to get to go with it. The 275 is ok but from what ive read its for much milder combos than the ones weve been talkin about. The superchargers they allow are only the F1's and YSI's. What we have been discussing is for a race or series type thing that would be along the lines of the Shakedown. Im fine with it being run on a 275 or 295. 295 would be alot safer but just allow twins and the big blowers.

Why not let the SSo cars run on there 10.5 tires? Make it a two tire class, DR and 10.5?

Has anyone approached Alex or Michael Napp about the D/R Class? Would be interesting to see it on a Friday night with the Index Classes BUT it has to be muffled.......... 732-446-7800.
