This Excel spreadsheet is for figuring out total area of multiply stage nitrous kits.
Example:
A two stage fogger kit with .040 in the first stage and .032 in the second do not equal a .072 pill and do not need the timing or fuel that a .072 pill would use. Rather it would use the fuel and timing from the total area of the two stage when activated. The total area for this example is .051 total. A .051 pill would obviously use less fuel and more timing than a .072 pill would. Hope this helps

Its there, just drag your cursor across the whole link and copy it. Thats what I did........don't just click on it. Thanks Monty, nice to have that in the files.

That's slick, Monty. I guess I'm not leaning on it as much as I thought.
GREAT INFO!!!!

The setup...NX Titan 2 stage/ 3 bar plate, single solonoids.
Nitrous solonoid orifice .157
outer bars .057 nos .041 fuel
center bar .110 nos .082 fuel
9 LBS fuel pressure
this setup per NX recommendation
car blubbered in low gear but pulled hard and clean through 2-3rd, plugs looked good. we are running a 14 foot -4 line on the center bar to soften the hit, we think this is why it blubbered in low gear.
Next pass...Boom!
setup
outer bars .057 nos .041 fuel
center bar .136 nos .088 fuel
Holed one piston, sagged two others, burnt 3 plugs
total timing 26 degrees taking out 18 with retard box
using the calculator I came up with total area of .158 nos
am I correct in assuming we exceeded the flow capability of the nitrous solonoid since it's orifice is .157? Do you think we are taking out too much timing at about 4 degrees per 100hp?
Do not want to repeat the explosion!
any advice would be appreciated!

It is very possible you exceeded the solenoid orifice.
Did the pistons burn through the center or off to the side? If off to the side.. was it between the 11 - 1 O'clock position when the piston is installed in the motor?
If it is threw the center.. I would believe that it went lean and it would mean the system did not exceed the orifice size. If it is off to the side it usually means it was a rich condition which could very well be the restriction.

Also to clear some confusion that I was PM'ed about I wanted to post some examples of what I'm trying to say
A .028 pill in a fogger is rated at 250 HP
Another .028 pill in a fogger is rated at 250 HP
Adding the two up would equal a 500 HP shot.. But does it?
500 HP would require 20 degrees of timing removed if both systems are on.
The total area of a .028 and a .028 pill are .040.. Which is a 400 HP shot total. So we would only remove 16 degrees total on the second stage.
On the first stage we would remove 10 degrees and then remove the additional 6 on the second stage for a baseline setting on an NOS system..
The fuel will also need to be adjusted.. Without accurate flow numbers, fuel pressures, orifice coefficients and pill sizes its hard to say what that setting would be.. Hope that makes sense and it doesn't blow everyone stuff up.. Remember these are theoretical numbers.. not all nitrous jets are created equal..

How does this compare with plate systems....
Example -
I am running 2 NOS Big Shot plates stacked
with a tune up of 93 Nitrous and 102 on the fuel for both plates...
Jet size comes out to a total area of .132..
Do I still run both systems at 5 lbs flowing?
Do I pull 8-10 deg per stage?
Sorry I am a little confused/scared.....
Thanks in advance - George

93/102 is pretty rich on a NOS plate. The factory only recomends that as a baseline. I would tune each plate seperate untill you get both to run well then do it togther and all should be fine. Use your plugs and find out what the motor likes. PM me if you have trouble. Do you have the two plates crossed like a crossbar? If not try it

Sorry about that. I lost everything doing some updates to the site. I have everything on an older computer I have at home but need to hook it all up and see if it even works anymore...

Thats cool thanks for taking the time to reply, we just had a meltdown with our 2 stage system and thought this would be good info.

Guys, I am new to this forum. I am trying to acces the total area spreadsheet. I copied the whole link and pasted it in my browser, and it still comes up with an error message.
Thanks
