I'm running my tubes for my air to water intercooler which is mounted in the back. The tubes are 4" and the intercooler is a PT-1200 unit mounted behind the passenger seat (coupe). Power adder is a Procharger. Here are my questions:

1. Do I need to worry about the discharge pipe getting hot enough to burn the carpet, interior pieces, etc? after making a run? In other words, some sort of wrap on the tube, etc????

2. Will there be any ill effects if I paint the tubes black to make them less visible? Preferably powder coat them??

Thanks for the info!

Figure 250 degree+ air temps coming into the cooler, it will melt wire loom! The paint will hold heat, I would not recommend painting or powder coating.

Ooooops, didn't know I had a reply. Thanks! I wonder how much difference the black paint would make as far as heat retention. I sure would like to keep it low key. Thanks for the info....

A flat black would be your best choice, it has a rougher surface and allows for more radiant heat transfer. I would also do a thin paint (rattle can) rather than a thick powder to help reduce insulation, the thicker the covering the more insulation it will have.
