do you folks run the control on the actual boost in the manifold or control the CO2 pressure going to the waste gate?

what are the advantages either way?

thanks

I use CO2 with mine. Sometimes with equal pressure to both sides of the gate, manifold pressure, the gates will want to bobble and bleed off exhaust. With the CO2 you can keep the top side pressure higher than the manifold pressure therefore keeping the gates closed tight. Hope this helps.

I use manifold pressure on the bottom of the gate and CO2 pressure on the top. I need 34lb of pressure on the top of the gate to make 30lb of boost. Manifold pressure would never be high enough to keep the waste gate closed.

Some run CO2 on both sides of the waste gate (instead of manifold pressure on the bottom). I've been told using manifold pressure on the bottom of the gate makes the transition from different stages of boost smoother vs. CO2 on both sides. I know when I stage the boost the transition is gradual and it doesn't just jump up to the next boost level. I have never run my boost control with CO2 on both sides of the waste gate so I have no data for that setup.

thanks for the input guys. do either of you run a boost controller or just a regulator?

thanks

You have to have the regulator on the CO2 tank before it gets to the BC. I am running an Innovative controller, it seems to be working good.

how big a turbo on what size motor?

do you have the map sensor monitoring boost pressure or CO2 Pressure.

thanks again

88mm on a 359 sbf. The Innovative has its own MAP sensor that monitors manifold pressure.

I just have timers that turn on solenoids to release the CO2. After the solenoids I run through regulators. That's how I control the C02 pressure.

Right on guys thanks again.
