Can you use a power pole for a ladder stand?

NOT USUALLY--SOME STATES CONSIDER IT TRESPASSING,CAUSE THEY ARE OWNED BY THE UTILITY COMPANY. I THINK ITS B.S. IF IT IS ON YOUR PROPERTY. JUST MY OPINION

i'm pretty sure it's illegal here in MO, too. honestly, i wouldn't think it would be a great idea anyway.

My family has 25 acres of woods surrounded by farm ground. The farmer that has 100s of acres to hunt sits about 75 yards from the edge of my woods in a pop up blind, this year he has put a ladder stand up on a telephone pole in the middle of nothing. It pisses me off because he shoots any little buck and won't look for them unless they drop dead. I hate to be a dick but he will not be allowed to set foot on my property, he is the first to tell you no on his land.

No, in Michigan it is considered as "Private Property" and off limits.

I would call the DNR office in your area and talk to your local ranger. Get to know him and tell him that you will take your cell phone and call or text him the next time your neighbor is sitting on the telephone pole beside your property. To the best of my knowledge it is illegal in every state and I know for a fact that it is in GA. I know someone that was cought and got a pretty healthy fine and ticket for that very thing. I don't remember if they took his license or not. You could always pour out some corn too unless hunting over bait is legal in your area. That would make his fine a little more severe if it was in sight of his stand regardless of who put it out. The law in GA requires any type of food to be at least 400 yards behind you and completely out of sight of the hunter. I have also heard of people being fined because of hunting over a neighbors corn pile.:p
You might not stop the guy from hunting on the property line but you can make his morning or afternoon a lot less enjoyable. Another thing you can do if you don't hunt the same area is soak a rag in gas or diesel fuel and place it as close to his stand/blind as possible while staying on your property. Deer will avoid that area like the plaigue and eventually he will grow tired of hunting there if he isn't seeing anything. I used to have someone that hunted the same way on a piece of property beside us but luckily one of my deer management hunting partners ended up buying that 400 acre tract and he put a stop to that real quick.

The gas on a rag idea sounds good, but in the past I have dumped a whole bottle of Aqua Velva at the bottom of problem hunters stands. When they don't see anything, they get the message.Using utility poles is illegal here in MD also.
