Kelly...any luck with "slick" Dick at Egdewater? Really surprised after last year you are considering that but I admire your persistance to keep this series going.

lol... yes the meeting went well. They are going to rent us the track and said our dates look good but they want a day or so to look over their schedule to confirm that. I know it will probably take a little convincing on my part to get a few guys back there, but with us renting the track money issues will no longer be a problem. The biggest disagreement he & i always had was about spectators and who was there to watch what. Since it will be just us there that wont be an issue and they also wont get any of the gate since they'll be getting a rental fee. Which boils down to i can guarantee payout every race and everyones a happy camper lol. :-D
Now all i have to do is work on getting more sponsors, racers and spectators! :)

Well let us know how it shakes out. Don't forget about the track prep, still thinking of getting Jason at VP involved?
Again, I appreciate your hardwork to keep this together. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Haha, thanks.
Hopefully you'll see me at a few of your events next year. I doubt we'll be done for the early races, but I like racing in the fall anyways, I don't sweat as much inside the car. :)

The only class that my car would fit in is Run What You Brung, but I have a question about this rule;
Engine diapers are required on all cars
Would a belly pan, with lips and absorbant liner, be legal? Also, is this a dial in class, or stricktly heads-up?
Thanks,

It's a heads up class.

I can double check with the track on that for ya but i think it would be ok. David is right, its a heads up class. A lot of the guys were asking for a pro tree, pro ladder.
Bad ass car by the way!

Thanks, but since I run NA, all motor, I think I could only muster a low 5.30 or high 5.20, and that probably won't cut it a heads up class. I was hoping that it was a handicap with a pro light. I like running off of a Pro light, and I love running 1/8 mile. But who knows, I may switch to injected alcohol by the time I move outside. Too much of a learning curve for an old man, like me, to start using spray.

Yea i think most of the cars that run in this class are in the mid to high 4's. Where do you usually run?

Well, we really havent had an actual 10.5 class. It was Pro Outlaw then this then that. First year we had an average of 6 cars which was not so great, so the rules were changed to try & get more people in, that didnt go so well so once again i talked with several people and put the Pro Street rules in for 08 (majority ruled on those rules). Well hardly anyone showed and i pretty much canned the class and put them on payout based on car count only. Im willing to try with the 10.5 rules next year but i gotta be honest i dont have a lot of faith at this point. Im hoping to see a steady 8-10 cars per race, or more. And while thats not stellar, its better than we've had lol. Need roughly 14 cars to cover payout, but i am willing to put up the money if we get a decent showing. Right now all purses are guaranteed, just dont know if i could continue to have any class that isnt being supported.
Sorry, thats a bit more info than you asked for lol

No, I appreciate the info. I'm just trying to find a series/track to run next year. I'm not going to be a front runner by any means in any of the Outlaw 10.5 classes, but should be a solid high/mid 4 sec car. So are you trying an Outlaw 10.5 class for next year?

I always race at Alaska Raceway Park, as it's the only strip in Alaska, and its a 1/4 mile track, but a former track manager did hold several 1/8 mile events, on the street, here in Anchorage. I guess I could just resign to the fact that, unless I decide to change my engine combo, I better stick to bracket racing.
Thanks

wow, you are thinking of driving from Alaska to race in Ohio? now that's a racer!
If you make it make sure to stop by and say hi, hell we can even give you a place to stay as long as you return the favor when we go on vacation to alaska, lol

I'm 65, and very close to retiring. I bought a diesel dually and a new 44' gooseneck car trailer, with living quarters, three years ago, and I AM coming south, where I can race at my leisure for more than four and a half months a year. Don't know how I'll get all my stuff out there, but I'll figure it out.

jk,
No dogsleds during our short summer, but they race sno machines and motor cycles side by side.
Kelly,
Here's a couple of pictures, of my car, taken at the track. Check out the scenery.

Kelly, The weather isn't always as good as in these pictures. With, only, a four and a half month race season, we're lucky to race 3/4 of that, especially after July 4th, or there about.

I can imagine. Yikes only 4 1/2 months... us people down here should be thankful for what we have! My local track usually opens in March and closes in Nov. Although last March they flooded so bad you could have swam the 1320 lol.
