Hello, I have a 9" housing with backbrace and 4-link. I was wondering if the 9 1/2" gears from Strange or MW will fint in the housing. I have done some research and cannot find an answer to this question.
Any information you guys would have on this would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what would be the benefit to useing a 9 1/2" versus a standard 9" gear.
Thanks Ron G.

It will fit but you will have to notch the flange where the gasket sits a little so the gear can slide in. The best thing to do is order a gasket from Quartermax and use that as a template since it already has the notch in it.

The only time you would need to go to a 9.5" gear is if you are having 9" pro gear breaking. How much HP are you running?

You will be fine with a 9" 35 spline pinion pro gear with your application. I know there are cars with well over 2300hp running a 9" gear.

.
The life cycle will be longer with the 9 1/2".
