I am chasing down ignition problems and was wondering if I could skip using the stock ls1 crank position sensor in light of a regular msd crank trigger setup? I don't know if this would work or if I could still run sequential by using the stock cam position sensor with the msd crank trigger setup...there's definitly something not right and I know people run the msd crank triggers all the time so I was thinking that would be a viable alternative. Running just a crank sensor and being stuck with batch fire is not really an option since I paid the cash to have sequential and it's a street car so I need good low rpm/idle control still.

Depending what EFI system you're running, I'm gonna assume BS3, becasue we have talked in the past.
You can run the BS3 on an LS1 with a Crank Trigger. The LS1 has a Hall Effect Crank Sensor and the BS3 ECU would have to be sent to John for reconfiguring for IPU (Crank Trigger).
I don't think you would loose the sequential part of the BS3, you are still supproting the ECU with a Cam Sync, so I don't think it would be affected.

I hope this helps,
Sparky

Thanks Sparky...I'm going to check the timing with a light asap at 5k and see if I'm getting the timing that I'm calling for in the computer itself. Then I'll at least know what's up as far as that goes.

I will soon have a 24 tooth crank trigger setup on the ride for crank reference...John found the problem and even had the stuff ready to go to fix it. Just gotta make a few mounts and move a few things around and we're good to go.

Thanks to my buddy Pat for designing the bracket and mounting it all up for me.
