I was wondering if you run a transbrake should your rear gear be tighter or should it be at the normal specs. Thanks

.

I pay someone to do mine, they have never asked if it had a brake or not. Good luck.

IMO, .06-.08 on the backlash for a break.

It makes no difference on the set up. If you break a gear that is a street gear a pro gear is another option. I know some do drive their cars on the street and I have ran a pro gear on the street for no more than 2-3 miles at a time going to a car show and back.

Alot of the strength of the gear is in the root of the tooth. Tight backlash will get a deeper contact but you also have to factor in oil clearence. We are not NASCAR racers that have oil pumps feeding oil right onto the ring and pinion contact point. We have to rely on the oil climbing the ring gear.
