building a 1991 mustang coupe, using a 377 and 200 shot of juice for now, then probably going with a small frame 88 over the winter..i'm thinking 1000-1100 is the max i'll get out of this setup, seeing as its a street car with viper six speed, full moly cage, and team Z rear suspension..i was just wondering what the best carrier would be for the 8.8? i'm going to narrow it and go with 9" housing ends..the typical mustang setup..the car will be driven alot,so can't go with a spool, was thinking of going with a auburn pro series and moser 31 spline or strange axles..i can't seem to find any carriers for the 8.8 in a 33 spline..so,just wanted to ask some opinions..this car will not be beaten on the track every weekend or anything like that..but will be subjected to some m/t drag radials and a few passes to see what it will do,etc thanks for any info!

An Auburn and Truetrac is available in 33 spline axles and your best bet is the Auburn Pro series. I have a few fast street cars with around 750hp and they do hold up very good. Auburn also has a service that you can send the unit in if it does loose the preload and starts to slip too much. I've heard they charge about $175.00 and completely rebuild the unit. I haven't had to send anything in yet to date.
