Do I use the same clearances for ring and pinion istallation specs with an aluminum center as with the cast ones?
I have a moser aluminum center that started to make a whining noise and the load on the "spool" bearings seems a bit much and the back lash was way out of line @ .030

Depends on the gear ratio, usually 4.56 and numerically higher ratio's. I would pull the spool out and check if they were too tight and the ring gear side race is falling apart. If not then it was a set up issue and you will have to turn the adjusters to reset preload and backlash. For race only cars set it to around .007 and street gears .008-.009.

There is no damage anywhere,it seems that the problem is Moser did a shit job on installing the gear, bastards that thing cost me $2800:smt071
now because of the worn gears it will probably never be quiet.

Yeah it's a shot in the dark if they will be quiet. Once they have been broken in and something like that happens the gear is worn in.
