It depends on the rpm range of your engine. Have you ran either yet?

I like to use this formula to calculate rpm, gear ratio x mph x 336 divided by tire size in inches, add in a few 100 for torque converter slippage.

So say the 4.56 x 175mph x 336 divided by 28" tall tire ='s 9600rpm, if the tire actually measures 28" from the ground to the top of the tire.

We have ran it for years w/4.56 the ring and pinyon finally broke,I believe we have decided try 4.88
