Shiftnoid and RPM Switch?

I am going to try and run an electric soleniod and know that RFI is a problem with RPM switches.
What I did was mount the RPM switch behind the shifter away from all other electrical sources. I also mounted the relay for the shiftnoid there and was going to run both power and grounds back to the battery from there. Does that sound right?

Running the grounds to the Battery will indeed provide a great ground. With what you have expalined, you should have any problems.
