Kim and I have been muling this around for a few weeks and have decided to move up to Extreme Street starting next year. We haven't totally decided on the combo but with our car we do have choices. Needless to say we are more than excited about this change, it offers us something that Pro Stock can't....diversity. Here in the south we have no RAM Racing NA Shootouts or a track like Milan that has a great monthly series for NA cars, if we did we'd probably stay put and continue to run Pro Stock. The down side to this is the Pro Stock family, I know, what family? but thats really not how it is, were a little small and dysfunctional but we do like each other;) It will be painful though not racing with these guys and gals next year.

As for this year some of you know we've missed a couple of races, it was really only suppose to be one(ATCO)so we could update the engine and that's what we are doing, we just fell a little behind the eight ball and before you knew it Chicago was on us. Kim and I were seriously depressed about missing Chicago but we had no choice. The engine should be done in a few more weeks and it should be a much better piece than it was so if someone wants to get into Pro Stock, RAM or the Milan Series I have the engine up for sale. Just contact me via PM for any questions. If no sale between now and Atlanta we plan on being there but the sooner the engine is gone the sooner we can start working on next year.
Thanks

Jeff I think you are making a wise decision I am pretty good friends with Danny Shemwell and we have talked all the time about the coin involved with his extreme street deal and really after the initial hit for the nos stuff he spends less money then I do he has yet to change a set of springs and the valve covers stay on all weekend unless somthing stupid happens have thought about the change myself the prostock struggle is tough I wish you all the luck in the world

Good luck Jeff!

I guess I better look up the rule book. Never much paid attention to Extreme Street.

If you read the rule book real good you might find a good combination.
Oh, I forgot I did that and got rewarded.

I dont normally post on this thread too much as I do not participate in NMCA Pro Stock. Always felt like you needed to be involved in it to have a say but I can tell you right now that the NMCA needs to pull their heads out of their *** with this class. 525 CID motors weighing 3550 lbs is a joke. Dont get me wrong....i am very impressed with what kind of performance comes out of this class but for goodnes sake ease up on the rules a little. OSCA car count keeps growing from what I have seen and their rules allow for a real wide variety of combinations. RAM seems to be doing OK and I know their rules are much more open than the NMCA. I have said from day 1 that I would not want to be a rule maker for this class or any NA class. I think the biggest fear that the NMCA has with this class is if they totally revamp the rules for Pro Stock then they will have to deal with the 4 or 5 guys that are 100% commited to their combos and what do you then tell them. They made this bed unfortunatly. You tell me what the harm would be in opening up the rules. Ease up on the weights and the CID limit and a few key other rules and I can almost guarantee a more robust class. Just like we have talked about before....an outlaw all motor class. I would participate.

Really sorry Jeff...did not mean to highjack your thread. You can shoot me now.

No, not at all Lane, I think you bring up valid points, maybe loosening up is a better idea, I surely support the too much weight issue but it comes down to this, theirs only a few people who want to and can afford to run a competitive NA car. It's not mainstream but it's cool. It's not only a stage for the engine builder to showcase his work but also the driver and how he prepares in the shop as well as on the track. What I've learned in my short stint in Pro Stock will only help me in Extreme Street.

If I were to build an engine for x/s, it would be a 440" Pontiac. You could make in the neighborhood of 1,000hp and then shoot 300 thru it. In "theory" it would be a high 7 second player.

You Sir, are reading, (my partner and I) our brains...
Also later this year, we do believe there will be a head for the "InJun" that will be able to do so with out a problem. Yet we lack funding for T&T or R&D so we have to wait to choose a combo.
And John, you know which head I refer too also that should flow easy over 500.
So now that will make it a contender even in PS without the hit of the funny stuff.
Question of it is...
What are we going to do about it???:(

If "that" head was all it was cracked up to be, someone would be making big power out there with it. BES made 1080hp with mine after only having them in their hands for 4 weeks. If the tiger head was legal in x/s, that would be the head I would use, but they are not. You could call Larry Wenzler up and have him cast the super chief intake port in the series 2 head and that would be fast but you would have all of the casting problems that we dealt with 8 years ago. I think it could be done with the engine porters "E" head.

Lots of high 7 second players in the class right now..... getting the car to actually run in the 7's on the other hand....

After every pass then, head gaskets would have to be changed. lol
