Start with either a half a package of bacon or same amount of country smoked ham with a half stick of butter. Chop it in fine 1/4 inch strips. When bacon is browned put in one small onion chopped fine and a couple fine chopped celery stalks. At this time peal and chop about six medium potatoes. just cover with chicken bullion, salt and pepper to taste and cook till tender open pot. By this time a lot of the water has evaporated. Remove from stove. In a separate bowl mix about 2 cups of milk or cream with two tablespoons of flour and 1/2 tsp chives, 1/4 tsp dill weed and 1/4 tsp dried parsley flakes. Stir this in with a whisk and when combined switch to spoon put back on stove. This should thicken up. If not the right consistency add instant potatoes or milk. It seems better the second day. A dollop of sour cream or ranch dressing sets it off. Dill weed toast goes well with this. Garlic bread with dill weed in place of garlic.
