Go with the IGFA classifications...

...but with out all the cumbersome IGFA rules.

You can call it Outlaw IGFA!

Actually, for Carribean (Atlantic) Blue Marlin, it is!

Damn it. Now I have to go dig thru the shoe box and find the baby Blue I caught & tagged several years ago. Estimated at 7 feet long, 75 pounds, and less then one year old.

Now where is that damn box?

Yeah but he gets to go home and park it.. You get to go home and soak more money into it...

Fishing tournament payouts are better than racing payouts.. and you dont need a 2500 HP motor to win either.. :p

Racing fuel is around $15 a gallon.. regular unleaded is $4.20 a gallon.. The boat uses an electric motor most the day.. Try again Jeff.... hehehehe

Well Monty if my leggs were better I would take yer ass on...
That is at Fly Fishing!!!
I have for many years caught the big browns rainbows steelies lakers and all the salmon on a puff ball, fly. nymph or streamer.
More pan fish in a day then most can catch in a month...
Biggest box I ever carried can fit in your hand!!!

Let me tell ya..you hit one of then 35lbs Kings on a 10 ft rod..your in for a fight!!!:smt082
I have to thank my dad and grand pap for that. Even though I cant tie, I still have some of the flies my grand pap tied for me as a kid almost 40 yrs ago.
Indeed...thats fishing! :smt023

I had his rod among lots of other things also up until my ex put the shit on me a while back..She has my grand pap's Orvis Bamboo #10 which he bought years before I was born.
Not only a heirloom, but today would have been priceless to find one that old less then $5000 bucks in its condition.

I wish I knew how to fly fish better. I just started last year learning in a parking lot.. Guy at work (in utard) is going to take me for a couple of weekends. He has landed some really nice stuff all over. The nicest being a 50# King in Alaska.. It was red in color .. :p

Fly Fishing is ...Like friggn heroin man..hahahaha
Worst mistake I ever made is not learning how to tie.
My Gr Pap could tie a pheasant tail nymph or a adams standing chest deep in the middle of a river in a few minutes....
Out west..
Never had the chance to toss a floater out there all them years I hunted out there. One thing they use big rods to toss it a long way across them rivers out there.
Dad and I talk about going out there all the time but..don't think we will ever make it, him getting old and me got the hand me downs of what he has 20yrs ahead of him.
No mistake though many famous rivers in this state still sport the lunkers. You just have to wade out there to them..;)

The west is over rated in my opinion. I head by the fishing/hunting stores and look at the "trophy" fish people caught. Our fish eat them for lunch and look for more to get a full stomach. The fish are tough to catch out there for sure. This guy said he will show me the tricks.

I headed to the west side of Michigan last year (went fishing with 2091 :) ) but before I did I spent 3 days in the rivers trying for Salmon with a chuck and duck setup. Not much fun doing it that way but what the hell. Anyway, it was a bad expreience. The snaggers came out, called DNR and they didnt give a shit and the guy who casted over my line snapped my new rod. Again bad trip.. Now I see why fly fishermen were always uptight when we fished near them.

I like it because its relaxing. I don't care if I dont catch anything just being out there is fun. Of course catching them would be funner. I look forward to learning more about it for sure. Might go out to a local lake to try the new 5 wt out when I get it just to practice..

I'll have to get my boy "it's 5 O'clock somewhere, Jay" to chime in on here since he was a charter boat Captain in the Keys for over 20 years. Come on Jay, show us some of those monsters your customers have caught over the years.

Here's how we fish for walleye in the St. Clair river, and we usually do really good:

We use Rapalas exclusively for lures though.
