Jay - I would just like to bounce my deal off of you for a thumbs up or down. I have sent a few folks your way via my web site www.enginecombination.com - so here it goes - I'll just copy it from my site:
Year: 1971
Make: Chevy
Model: Camaro - STREET CAR!
Weight: 3,420
Engine CI: 434
Bore: 4.155"
Stroke: 4"
Block: Motown
Heads: AFR 227 race ready versions
Ported? (With flow numbers): out of box, AFR flow #'s 295/220 @ .700
Crank: 4340, Ohio Crank
Rods: 4340 Ohio Crank
Pistons & Rings: JE, Total Seal
Cam & Lifters: Lunati RA1 solid roller, 256/264 @ .050, 624 lift, 109 LSA, 105 centerline intake lobe, Crower HIPO's
Intake: Super Victor, port matched
Carb: 1,000 cfm 4150 - Pro Systems
Distributor/Ignition: MSD Pro billet, Crane HI6
Headers: 1 3/4 Headman, cheap ones
Tran & Brakes: 400 manual valve body, no brake
Converter: YANK 9", 4200 stall
Rear End Gear: 3.89, Moser 9"
Tire Size: 28.5
HP/TQ Number: don't know
Power Adder: NOS Big Shot Plate
Compression & Fuel Used: 10.6:1 - 93 pump gas
My cam is the above and
IO 23 IC 53 EO 65 EC 19 lash .024-I and .026-E
At 3,420 lbs and a very tight N20 converter it's running 10.50's in street trim on pump gas, leaving the line at 2,000 rpm foot braking. On a 350 shot, it's now running low 9's @ 145 or so, through the mufflers. On a decent track, hopefully a high 8 will happen this year.
The current cam was selected for me by Harold Brookshire while he was at Lunati. But...at the time it was very limited N20, now it's a 350 shot, single stage plate hitting it all off the line.
I will be changing heads this winter to a much better AFR head. At that same time I may bump the comp to around 11.2:1 (must stay on pump gas for driving to work) or so and then....maybe change the cam????
Thank You so much for you time!
