I really feel for you guys, we are not NMCA racers but these rule revisions for P/S really seem bogus to me! If I was Butch, I would be soooo pissed, so now you cant even do your homework, make a combination that fits within the rules and not have this shit happen before you even win a race......that to me is pathetic.....we were considering doing something for next year for P/S....not now!!!

We race in the RAM series and cant complain about bullshit rule changes like this.......if there is one thing I really like about RAM is that he does not change rules very often and competition is still awesome and car counts going up and up.........Maple Grove on the 13th should bring out over 16 10.5 cars........that is another thing that makes me wonder about NMCA P/S, the car count was not great so what do they do, piss off 2 o 3 of the 6 or 7 that show???

Come on Chandler, join Langer and Maichle at Maple Grove, that would be awesome to have 3 of you at that race.....or more?????

I just need an answer as to why a 20* head has to weigh as much as a 15 degree or equavilent head.
1. because my car works too good??
2. I have my gear ratios figured out??
3. Converter works??
4. Entire package is bad ass??
I am hearing.........."well" put the weight in it and come race, you'll be fine."

I told them 75.....which is 25 less than 15* weight I will race
I told them 100lbs I WILL NOT.

Maybe Skip will buy Langers and Uratchko's cars......

Class Name Change........PRO SKIP......vs. Kemp!

I think this crap is horrible! You guys put sooo much time/cash into your cars to get kicked square in the junk.

This is exactly the reason why my shit sits on the hoist and never leaves the shop. Hell, I'm not even using it to get ice cream anymore.

And the most puzzling yet is the insane #175lbs on a CFE SBF head that has never seen NMCA competition. Where the hell do these guy's pull these numbers from ???

And until they get realistic about the weight penalties on stick cars, we will never see one of those in NMCA competition as well ???

Trey removed the "F" word. I didn't think the word "screw" was a profanity. Once Trey removed the work "Fuck" there was no more profanity in the post, so it had to be removed for other reasons. I never insulted you, I don't appreciate the remarks about my education. I spoke my mine, if you can't handle the truth, oh well. I would give you what you can do in you're A. B. C. but i'm better than that!

I guess you guys over at NMCA can't handle the truth about the NMRA/NMCA BUDDY club and favoritism in the rule enforcement. The profanity was removed early this morning, but hey if you want to ban me from the NMCA site, go for it could really give a, well ya you know.

Hell..Butch!
I only saw the bowling green race..
and it was obvious you had your car figured out..
the other guys don't have their cars working as well..nothing against them..
man, it's lots of time and money to test converters and crap...
shit..I know I'm gonna have lots-of-issues to work out..whatever I've got though..is all I can do for this year..
I can't afford to make any changes till next year..

but,
yours is just refined..the others aren't as yet..
it absolutely sucks to be punished for being on the mark..!

I'd love to see the statistical data they (NMCA) used..
anybody wanna guess what it it..?

I haven't had one hit with the car yet..and this "rules manipulating" crap has
me squirming uncomfortably already..!

John Langer
07-03-2008, 09:42 AM
Others aren't refined???? I have been racing the same car/engine style since '94. I have spent more money on testing parts on my car then I have in the purchase price of my house. I have spent more money on converters and transmissions then the dollar value of cars that my girlfriend has totaled. I have spent more on race fuel then I have invested in my college education. I have logged more days at the track testing then Bush has spent nights in the white house.

What happens when about half the rule committee knows nothing about race cars.

John Langer

Refined... I run the same combo that didn't loose 1 round of eliminations in 2006, but only qualified #1 twice. A combo that got hit with weight in 2007 and won 2 out of 3 final rounds but only qualified #1 once. A combo that got hit with even more weight in 2008 and has since only won 1 round of eliminations. Refined... give up 56hp for 100 pounds and see how refined you are?

Jeff Chandler
07-03-2008, 10:00 AM
I think my car is refined pretty good, 1.239 60 with a 3500lb car and a glide, I'm just down on power, that's a money thing but I hope to have that taken care of somewhat, right Chris;)

geezuz..
I didn't mean it to be an insult..I apologize ..
I know you guys have worked your asses off..as well as spent all your kid's inheritence..!
I have..and I'm not even runnin' yet..
but when I looked at the track data a few weeks back...
and watched the cars run at BG..
Butch's car looked to be out 60' ing everybody..smooth and
consistent too..and I don't know what everybody's exact combo is...
but I was guessing you would all like to change something..

but the point was.. (at least that's what I meant)..that weight is being tossed around as a punishment for
hard work and there's no sense in it..(like the weight penalty you got for your hard work..John)
leave things alone and leave the folks alone ...
let things settle out and then, see who's doing what.. then, evaluate the rules based on performance ..
at the end of the season..not after, one guy does something at, one race..

I guess..I'll just sit back and watch... till I get my dog in the fight...
once again..sorry y'all..

Matt

Matt, John is having a tampax moment, forgive him...lol... I knew what you were saying but it's much easier to get a 2850lb car to 60ft then it is a 3500lb using the same tire. I give Butch tons of credit but the et is made in the first part of the track(actually to the 330)and he and everyone else that runs the lighter car has a easier(not easy)time at then the BB cars(John included).
Don't refrain from commenting on this or any other subject pertaining to Pro Stock, your definitely entitled to it.

I guess the mid season rule changes is what really burns my ass.
I wish I had at least 1 season to have such a big advantage, remember I got a special rule book sent to my house with the best combination highlighted to go after.
So I did, and nobody else was stupid enough to try, because lack of small block chevy experience.
BES or any of the other capable engine builders could have built the same deal, but Chris/CFE/ and I went after it knowing going in we (mostly) I were taking a chance with parts that cost the same as any other head/manifold/rocker setup.
It turned out to be better than we thought.
So what was I to do??
1. skip the first 3 races so the NMCA had no data to penalize me with anf run only the last 4 races??
2. Go to the first 3 races, while spending well over $1000 each time not to mention the time off work and sandbag just to "be there"
3.Run as hard as I could. Like I did and get penalized??
Seemed like I was getting it no matter what.??
I like the people in the series (most of them) and have made what I call decent friends with more guys than just in pro stock, but this has me sitting here scratching my head on what to do.
IMO hitiing me with a 100 is like 125 for a big block, there hasnt been any weight penalty in my recent memory nearly that big.
I guess its easier as a business to penalize 1 car to keep the others happy then let a certain someone have their way just for one year.
BK out..............
Tim that was funny by the way.LMAO
