2006 Q16 rules

This is the full rule set for the Windsor Shootout Q16 at St Thomas Dragway 2006, these rule’s were voted on by all previous Q16 Racer’s that showed up at the meeting on Feb 10 at Rotan do-it-yourself garage with everyone having a chance to be heard and listened too with all matter’s being put to a vote with the decision’s being made by the majority.
Rule’s will be handled in this manor every year with the exception that only racer’s from the previous year can attend and vote on the rule’s for the following year, so to have your say in 2007 rule’s you must race Q16 in 2006.

- All racer’s MUST pre-register.
- Vehicle’s must be out and seen on the street for cruise night’s and car show’s a minimum of 5 time’s

RULE REVISION :

Cars that make the five cruise night requirement will be exempt from the prequalifying cruise but the prequalifying cruise is mandatory for anyone that hasn't made the five cruises

and can register at that time for $20.00 the pre-registration fee will be deducted from the cost of the entry fee and is NON-REFUNDABLE.

- All car’s must restart under there own power or its out.
- If your vehicle spill’s any liquid it’s out.

vehicle and driver liscenses
- All vehicle's and driver's running faster than 9.99 are required to have a current IHRA/NHRA chassis certification for the time's being run

Body
Body’s must be stock appearing and dimension’s, wheel well modification limited to tire clearance only, no “swoopy” or aero modification’s allowed. Hood, door’s, trunk lid must be operable. Doors must open from the outside.

Interior
Two front seat’s required (aftermarket allowed). Rear seat’s may be removed but must be covered with carpet or neatly tined. A full dashboard is required (fabricated allowed) Interior MUST be neatly finished. We are allowing aluminum interior’s at this time but would like to keep with the “street car” look of factory or fabric covered door panel’s, head liner, carpet and most interior panel’s, so in doing this we would like everyone to keep this in mind when building or buying car’s.

Tires
All entries are required to run DOT approved tire’s with the exception of tire’s with the side wall designation of 28”x 10.5 or smaller being allowed slick’s, NO W’s allowed.

Street equipment
All entries are required to have working head light’s, turn signals, tail lights and brake lights.

Exhaust
All entries are required to have commercially available muffler’s installed so all exhaust gas pass through them and must exit past the leading edge of driver’s door.

Weight

Small block 2800 lbs.
Big Block 3200 lbs.
6 cylinder 2300 lbs,
Naturally aspirated is minus 450 lbs from above weight’s

Due to the confusion and back and forth voting on weight’s I would suggest any one buying or building a car NOT to spend allot of time or money trying to reach the minimum’s, chances are they will go up in general and weight may be added for parity if needed.

Cube limit

A MAX cube limit has been set at 640 cube
