It's still the 13th in California, so we kinda met our PGD invite deadline. We've been working hard on this for most of the day. We got far fewer entries this year, but lots more very serious cars. Tough picks. You'll see lots of familiar names here, plus plenty of new ones. We picked 15 alternates instead of 10.

If you're on the list, expect an official email from us in a few days. Hopefully before the end of the week. But now might be a good time to reread the rules just to make sure you can be ready.

The 50 regular invitees are in no pareticular order, but the alternates are ranked in the order in which they will be accepted.

My apologies. I was of the impression it was in Memphis like the previous 2 events but I was thrown by the link Mike posted were Frieburger stated "It's still the 13th in California, so we kinda met our PGD invite deadline". This caused me to think it was in Cali for some reason.

EDIT**********************offical rules
* Allowed Vehicles: The only vehicles considered for the Pump Gas Drags(TM) are four-wheeled cars, trucks, and SUVs. They may be of domestic or import manufacture. No dragsters, buggies, or flip-up or lift-off bodies allowed. The only open-wheeled vehicles allowed are '34-and-older domestic vehicles and replicas thereof. Competitors are required to attend the event with the same vehicle in the same basic configuration it was in when the application was presented to HOT ROD for consideration.

* Street Equipment: All competitors must have current street registration, a legal rear license plate with current registration decal, current proof of insurance, and a current driver's license. No dealer or manufacturer plates allowed. The VIN on the car must match the VIN on all associated paperwork. The following are required: working headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, and horn, and a safety-glass windshield.

* Safety: Competitors must meet NHRA safety requirements for the quarter-mile speed and/or e.t. the vehicle is capable of. You will not be invited to the Pump Gas Drags(TM) if your vehicle clearly does not meet safety rules, i.e., no rollbar or rollcage. NHRA safety rules will be enforced by the Memphis Motorsports Park tech inspector.

* Engine: The engine must be a gasoline four-stroke piston or rotary type. Only one engine may be used. The engine must be self-starting, unassisted by a person other than the driver.

* Exhaust: Mufflers are required; the exhaust system must extend past the rear edge of the rearmost side door. All exhaust gases released from the engine must pass through mufflers at all times. Cars may not be uncorked in any way during competition.

* Tires: The entire competition must be run on one set of four tires. The drive tires must be DOT slicks with a sidewall designation no greater than 30 inches tall or 12.50 inches wide (no "W" tires allowed), or any DOT drag radial.

* Wheelie Bars: Prohibited.

* Interior: The following items are required: carpet covering the full floor and tunnel ahead of the rear edge of the front seats; a complete headliner; upholstered door panels; a full OE dashboard frame; upholstered driver and passenger seats in stock locations; and a steering column in the conventional location. The driver must be able to enter and exit the vehicle unassisted.

* Graphics and Decals: Vehicles in competition may not have any lettering or sponsorship decals on any portion of the car with the exception of the driver's name on the side glass and mandatory event-sponsor decals and windshield banners that may be issued during tech. This will be strictly enforced. Use of a HOT ROD magazine front license plate issued during tech inspection is strongly encouraged.

* Gasoline: The only fuel allowed during competition is the Rockett Brand-spec gasoline that will be supplied. This is a 93.6-octane fuel with 3.6 percent oxygen. Cars are to be delivered to tech inspection with empty gas tanks and fuel lines; it is mandatory that fuel systems be fitted with a drain hose or petcock to easily verify that the entire system is empty. Any tools required to verify that the entire fuel system is empty must be provided by the racers during tech inspection. Fuel systems including return lines may be required to be flushed with Rockett Brand gas at the race director's discretion. Once empty, each car will be supplied a maximum of 10 gallons of Rockett Brand spec gas and the fuel tanks will be sealed. Any competitor caught adding fuel, or with a supplemental fuel system, or with a broken seal will be disqualified. Octane boosters or fuel additives of any kind are not allowed. Injection into the engine of any substance other than Rockett Brand-spec gasoline, water, and nitrous oxide is not allowed. Alcohol injection is not allowed. A fuel check of the winning cars will be required. The Official Event
