they are 12v and only 18lbs..

If you are looking for a small battery I would look at either Hawker Genesis/Odessy or East Penn/Deka's ETX line. Only problem using a small bettery to start a car is if you don't fire quickly, there is not much reserve capacity to keep cranking.
