Do most people run two calipers per wheel in the rear? I've seen this before but want to know what most people use. Thanks Mark

I run dual Wilwood calipers. I can hold the car at 4600+ rpm with the foot brake. I have heard that a single Strange rear caliper will hold as well a dual Wilwoods. I already had a single Wilwood so I just ordered the bracket and and another caliper for each wheel.

Also, I had to cut my bead lock wheels to clear the dual calipers. It gets pretty tight when you have a caliper on each side of the rotor.

Thanks Jim, I have the same thing you had, single wilwood, Red's did my beadlock converion, I had them cut the beadlock for extra room already maybe it will have to get cut again. Do you know what bore size (master) your using for the rear?

pardon my ignorance, but why? is this simply to stop the car or are you staging the car on the brakes instead of a transbrake? what am I missing?

I use the big Wilwood master cylider. I forget the bore size but it's the one that most drag cars use. I don't have any problem building brake pressure. I think Sheppard only cut my wheels .050" for the dual calipers. It's tight but they go on.

The brakes are used in the pre stage beam. You want to spool the turbo and then roll into the stage beam. You need good brakes to hold the car in the pre staged beam while it's building boost. Then you stage and hit the trans brake. Oh yea, they stop the car too. :-D
