This guy is a joke!!! John from Florida (#1-407-879-6057) or his email (weezeeii@yahoo.com). he gives me a deposit on my car and jerks me around for 2 weeks.Even sends a friend to las vegas to look at my car.The friend loves my car says its everything i listed it as.Then john wont answer the phone or emails for a few days now.If you cant come up with the money all you had to do is ask for a little more time.Dont be a puss and not answer the phone. We talked on the phone everyday until its time to come up with the cash,Even arranged shipping. Thanks for the $500 John!!!:teabag Nice doing business with you. You got 500 bucks to show a guy your car and he doesn't answer the phone for 3 days and you do this?
Give it some time .

Like i said he jerked me around for two weeks. In my opinion a $500 deposit does not hold a car longer than two weeks.I dont mind being a good ol boy or anything but you can aleast answer the damm phone.Shawn

I believe you to be somewhat wrong but it is your car and your deal.
A $500.00 deposit is not like a $100 deposit. Most places a $500.00 deposit will get you a month time to deal or no deal. That should be discussed and agreed on before any money is changed hands.
In this modern world of internet and phones, things can happen to cut a person off for a week or more. So it is like they are stranded or something. I have experienced the agonies of wanting to get back with someone and just couldn't. It does happen. It is possible.
After a 2 weeks! Only 2 weeks You are keeping the guy's money? That does not seem right to me.
What kind of a valuable car are you trying to sell and how much is the thing worth? Better yet, How many sales have you missed this past week because it had a deposit up on it. Is your car in demand that much?
Dude Guys sell very expensive Race Cars with using no more $500 to $1000 deposit on them. That is done all the time. It is called Good Faith Commitment.

I would give the buyer a certified letter stating what you've been through and keeping the deposit because you've lost potential buyer(s) while your car is off the market.

Put you self in my shoes. You take a $500 western union deposit on a monday on a car and the buyer agrees to have the remaining amount($22,000) in a certifed check in 5 days. You talk to the buyer on the phone everyday and also arrange for a shipping company to pick the car up.Then on the 5th day no money,I contacted the buyer and he said he "didnt have any american expess checks that they were being overnited to him".OK fine i understand.Another 5 days go by and no money. Then i have to drive across town and pick up the buyers mechanic from a hotel to look at the car.He flew down from Florda on his own pocket book and time. The mechanic loves the car and reports to the buyer that the car is everything i listed and loves the car.He was very nice fella and i invited him back to vegas in a few months for are big street car race(psca)Then the buyer says the money is in the mail and 8 days go by and he wont answer the phone or return a email. In the mean time since i think my car is sold i buy a $30,000 drag radial car.Now i am broke and have my wife breathing down my neck because i have two racecars sitting in the garage and the bank account is a little low.So do you understand wher i am comeing from now.I guess i should of told the whole story in the first post.Like i said if he decied that he didint want the car anymore or could not come up with the money all he had too do is pick up the phone or reply to a email.SHAWN

Like I mention previously. You've done nothing wrong.
Keep the deposit and put your car on the market again.

Well I would say you've done very well. You showed a guy your car and he give 500 bucks for it. As far as purchasing another one before selling and got you in a bind with the wife.. "don't count your chickens before they hatch" I can't see why this is negative feed back on the guy wanting your car. Hell i think you should post it in the positive, because I would love to show my car to someone and profit 500 bucks!!!

I guess the biggest lesson I can see to be learned here is to not spend the money on a new car before your have cash in hand on the old one.
Nothing is guaranteed till it's paid for and gone.

Yes i did post it on racingjunk.I dont wont any one else getting jerked around. And its not the money or the other car.If i want i could keep them both.I also have a 70 camaro and 72 nova both race cars.It is the point!!! He wasted my time. If it ever happens too you then maybe you will understand.

Sounds like you are pissed because you went ahead & bought another car with money you didn't have yet. Yes you got jerked around but you got $500 for a little aggrevation. The $30,000 spent on a new race car is your own doing. Sorry if the truth hurts.

I think you have accomplished nothing with this thread. You made 500.00 in two weeks doing nothing. Stop complaining and move on.
