guru. He had asked me for some engine specs to set up my NOS system.

One question was, what were the flow numbers on the intake and exhaust ports of my cylinder head and at what lift, o2in. water etc . The second question was what is the cam shaft numbers. At this point he said to hold on and I could hear in the background what sounded like he was doing some math on a calculator. Then he proceeded to tell me that the cam I have was a little too big on the exhaust lift side.

My question to you Jay is " is there a mathematical formula between cylinder head flow numbers and cam shaft numbers that you can give out"? So that we can use them as a quick reference guide when looking into buying a camshaft?

Thanks man! 8)

Sounds to me like he was calculating overlap at .050 or where the theoretical closing of the exhaust valve. NOS guys should be NOS guys. Convertor guys should be convertor guys. Both of them think they have a clue about camshafts and in reality, they don't!

BTW, I don't buy the exhaust being *too big*. W/O knowing what the ENTIRE lobe looks like, I would be hard pressed to make a snap judgement little lone a NOS genius. I have my hand in some serious NOS applications. The ones that run the hardest on the least amount of NOS, are the ones that have got big in/ex spreads on them. Kind of like a 500cid pro Stock camshaft.

I do not want to say something about a NOS guy being better than another, but I know of (1) that is just bad-ass. If you are interested, please PM me who you are using and I'll PM you back. Ya, ya, I know, I know.......secrets. I just don't want to p*ss in anyone's Cherrios.
