I need help eliminating chassis flex. 70 Nova, sub-frame connectors thru-the floor, six point roll bar attached to plates welded to floor. A friend of mine recently showed me a flex test. We used a floor jack to lift front end, then placed jack stands under the car where the subframe connectors meet the frame. Then we lowered the car onto the stands. The front of the car continued to sag for what seemed like a few inches or more. Is this killing e.t. ,reaction times, and overall performance?

I am sure you do have some flex but inches of flex sounds a little crazy.I think what you are seeing is the weight coming off the rear suspension and the rear end continuing to come out of the car which would make the front of the car appear to flex. You would have to have the suspension out of the car to see the actual amount of flex you have but that won't show you much not being in a dynamic state.More power and better traction will flex the car more.I would add to the bar and turn it into a cage and grab a few key points on the chassis, front frame rails, mid and or motor plate, shock mounts and suspension attachments. When ever I build a cage I incorporate these points to tie the whole package together.
