Had an engine built by this shop. I drug my feet, they drug their feet, the basic engine's finally done. 6 months it takes them to install a dry sump pump and vacuum pump on the motor plate. Finally, they tell me they had no one with experience on installing the dry sump pump. I go over to pick up the engine to take it to another shop to complete it, they can't find the vacuum pump nowhere in the shop. They lost the pump - (4 vane Moroso), I'm back and forth(going 3wks) with BOB RUBIN about replacing the pump. Today, he tells me he can only go 50 cent on a dollar towards the rplcmnt(wtf). I paid $470 for this unit. I'm livid right now. This shit is crazy. Don't take any loose parts there, THEY MIGHT COME UP MISSING!

.

Most already know, but before the name gets ripped.
Ted passed away a few years ago, new owners.
Blame the shop, not the name.

So they acknowledge the fact that it was in their shop and is now
lost and they are offering a 50% replacement? Good lord.
What's happening to people in this fucking country?

Wait until the engine is done, load it up, and when you go to pay him tell him you lost the cash on the way over and you can only go 50 cents on the dollar.

They sold your shit to someone else and are willing to take 50%
less profit now that they're caught. Real nice.

The Other Half Of the Story
The engine was here for 3 years because he did not have the money to finish it and he did not send payment when promised. The pump was purchased on E-Bay used. I offered to replace it with a like kind pump or cash. He wanted the price of a new pump. The dry sump system was used and supplied to us as a bunch of missed matched parts. We can not accept liability for customer supplied oil system pieces.

The same machinist have worked here for 20 + years. Ted ran the office after his stroke in the mid 1990s. We stand behind all of our work done in this shop.

you lost (sold) the pump. Your responsible to replace it. Period. None of the other stuff matters. Just excuses to not replace parts

Motor was not there for 3 yrs. I paid you how you worked on the motor. Out of sight out of mind is how I saw it. I wasn't in your face everyday so you said oh well. The parts I brought there was all good stuff. You never tried to mount anything. The last 6 months I waited on you guys to mount a vacuum pump and the dry sump system. Funny I took it to another engine builder and he mounted the stuff right away and dyno'd the motor. Guess you wont get credit for the power it made because I'll never tell anyone you built it. And if you were any kind of a businessman you would have sent me my money in the mail via check as to what we agreed upon for the cost of the vacuum pump. You have my address.
Somebody stole my pump plain and clear - as for the price you quoted me on I see them used all the time for what I paid for it. It was the newest version of that pump. So it wasn't that old. And as for me paying you. I wouldn't have gotten my engine if I did not pay you.

I didn't tell them how you tried to blackmail me into doing another engine for the purchase of a new pump, Bob. Send me my money. Charles

IN MY OPINION THE TWO GUYS WHO DO THE MACHINE WORK
ARE VERY RELIABLE AND "DOWN TO EARTH"
HOWEVER THE NEW OWNERS FAIL TO RECOGNIZE ITS A VERY COMPETITIVE MARKET AND THE MUST GO THE EXTRA MILE TO
GET AND KEEP NEW CUSTOMERS/IF WHAT U CLAIM IS TRUE
THE NEW OWNER MUST OF GOT HIS BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
FROM SELLING CRACKER JACKS AT THE CIRCUS TENT

IN THE PAST IVE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH TED BOROWSKI'S
THE MACHINISTS ARE VERY GOOD AND RELIABLE PEOPLE
AND A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH AT ALL TIMES.UNFORTUNATELY
THE NEW OWNER<TED PASSED AWAY>HAS NO REAL BUSINESS
EXPERIENCE AND IS HAVING TROUBLE COMMUNICATING WITH CUSTOMER AND IS A "IM NEVER WRONG KIND OF GUY''IN ADDITION THE LACK OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FRONT OFFICE IS A REAL TURN OFF .IF THESE PROBLEMS ARE CORRECTED IM CONFIDENT THEY CAN AGAIN FLY HIGH IN THE WORLD OF HI-PERFORMANCE AS THEY ONCE DID IN THEIR PRIME.

I offered to replace it with a used pump or monopoly money. He wanted the price of a new pump. The dry sump system was used and supplied to us as a bunch of missed matched parts. We can accept liability for customer supplied oil system pieces. i really dont care as long as i can make some money of anyone who walks in.
