(May 3rd) - Saturday Night Street Car Shootout brought to you by Cecil County Dragway and Finishline Performance

The Drag Radial class is brought to you will special thanks from the following sponsors: PM Construction, Bigtime Automotive

DRIVER R/T ET MPH

(W) Jesse Lambert - 0.026 5.13 @ 144
(L) Ben Byrd - 0.080 5.33 @ 140

Lambert left first and slowly pulled away for the win. Byrd made a nice pass and kept it off the bumper but didn't have enough.

(L) John Balinksy - 0.047 5.54 @ 120
(W) Ev Bernardo - 0.057 5.14 @ 144

Balinsky started to go up on the bumper and had to lift. Bernardo had another strong run for the win.

(L) Rich Bach - 0.143 5.33 @ 133
(W) Steve Drummond - 0.086 5.14 @ 138

A pair of nitrous small blocks going head to head. Drummond left first and took the win light over Bach.

(L) Ken Quaticcio - -0.005 5.46 @ 117
(W) Alex Vrettos - 0.007 5.47 @ 107

Quaticcio red lighted the win away. It was a good race though. Vrettos moved toward the wall and had to lift and Quaticcio moved toward the center line and had to peddle but it didn't matter anyway.

(L) Chris Crusse - 0.091 5.62 @ 129
(W) Chris Little - 0.047 5.16 @ 146

Two straight passes. Crusse went into tire shake as his woes continue trying to figure out the radials. Little made a nice, clean pass.

(W) Richie Stine - 0.134 4.94 @ 147

Stine gets the solo and it left soft, but when the nitrous came on the car took off and Stine puts up the best 1/8 pass by a radial car this weekend.

Does Ev Bernardo still have that turquoise shoebox? I remember that car from way back when, he used to race with a yellow Chevy II that was the same SBC setup, if my memory serves me right?

I don't know about a turquoise shoebox, but he sold the yellow chevyII to a local guy.
He also has a 68 camaro 10.5 car and that 96 he's racing today

Sure your not thinking of Quentin Matheny's 66 Chevy II Sedan? It was turquoise and hauled ass. It's still around but is now burnt orange.

There is also a turquoise 65 Chevy II out of VA. Not sure who owns that now.

Isn't that also Stine's personal best 1/8 mile time, tying him with Pirez for best NOS/DR 1/8th??

Went backed and looked, Pirez has gone 4.86 . . .

Hopefully we'll get to see these two run together in October

I think it was Chris Evans who was paired with Paul Major. Neither made the call. Major had a trans issue that he was just a few bolts from putting back together when he had to withdraw. We were told this opponent was not make the call due to low oil pressure. It might have been Evans
