If there is a tie for a position, the tiebreaker is as follows: A. Number of elimination wins. B. The rating point system: Each driver will be rated according to his/her position in the standings. The rating system will begin after competition on the first points day (April 27). The rating will be as follows: If a racer is in first place, one rating point will be awarded; second place will receive two rating points, third place will receive three rating points, etc. If two or more racers are tied with the same amount of points for any position, they will each receive the same amount of rating points i.e. tied for fifth each racer gets five rating points. The rating numbers will be increased based upon what place the racer is in. This will continue through the end of the Ultra Quick 8 Points Series. On the last points day, if a racer is in seventh place and earns enough points on that day to move him/her into a tie for third place, the racer with the lower rating points will finish the year in third place and the higher rating points racer will be fourth. The only way a runoff will be necessary is if the earned points, number of wins, and rating points are the same. If after the tiebreaker, a result for a position has not been determined, a one-run run-off will occur. NOTE: Top 8 points earners after August 31, 2008 will receive an embroidered Jacket courtesy of Raceway Park.

Qualifying will be done pro style. In pairs as often as possible, and in case you are making two qualifiers, you will run each lane one time, you will not be allowed to run the same lane twice.
You must attempt to qualify with a racecar capable of running 8.99 or quicker.
#1 qualifier must run first round to receive award.
If you cannot run first round, tell a track official.
Quickest 8 cars qualify.
Eligibility to be determined by the Raceway Park Management.
Cars and/or drivers found NOT to be in compliance with these rules are subject to disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the Quick 8.
Once all cars leave the bleach box area they may only cross the starting line one time for their burnout prior to their run. Example: Once you back up over the starting line after your burnout, the remainder of the race shall be forward motion only. If you cross the starting line again after this burnout, you will be disqualified. Racecars must back up after their burnout under their own power -- no pushing the racecar.
Oil Down Rule: If any racer leaks oil or any other fluid on the racetrack that requires a large clean up with the clean up machine, jet, track crew, etc., you will receive one warning for the season. Any incidents that require clean up after that one warning will cost you one point. This action is necessary for the safety and quality of the Ultra Quick 8 show. We hope this policy will encourage racers to triple check their racecars to prevent leakage on the racetrack.
Any racer in Quick 8 that refuses any post race tech procedure will be expelled from the Quick 8 for a period of two years from date of infraction and subject to penalties from the NHRA.
If a competitor is disqualified for any infraction (ie. Crossing center line, failing tech, etc.) his or her competition may be reinstated on an per incident basis by management.

Lets see. Hmm what will the payout for quick 8 b $59. Maybe Englishtown should take some of the Gazillion dollars that they made off of past few SHAKEDOWNS and give it back to the racers, maybe a little something, since it didnt cost them a nickel to put on Shakedown, all the payouts where put up by a little guy to put the Greatest Show on Earth in Etowns hand. Make the QUICK 8 PAYOUTS REFLECT THE PAST PROFITS.

What do past profits from ANY of their races have to do with Quick 8 and the payout structure for that race????
If you can't afford to run that class for the fun of it then don't!
I can't afford to run it so I don't. If I could afford it I would no matter what the payout is.
It's susposed to be fun, right? Not a way to make a living..............

Why do you think there is such a great turn out for any race, $hakedown, because the money is there, $o if you want to have a great turn out, car count put up the $$$$ that has been pocketed from past. Without Quick 8 there would never been $hakedown. Its time to give a little back.
Since you seem to know it all, Didn’t the racers put up ALL the money for the payout for $hakedown and the standing room only spectators $$$$ someone was high-fiving each other in the back room. GIVE A LITTLE BACK.

Who are you kidding?????????
Let's see, $10K to win, did you or ANY of the other racers pay at least $1000 to enter??????????
You need to get your facts straight...........
I wonder if you really are a racer or just some numb-nutz stirring-up shit here.....
Drop the act buddy and get a life. If you can't afford to race a fast car without a "gauranteed" payout then go back to test and tuning or play golf.
If the Shakedown is due to the Quick 8 program, why doesn't Atco or Cecil have their own??????

What other business do you see that makes money and then gives it away as a thank you? Running a racetrack is not cheap. EVERYTIME those gates open they are out 2-3k with supplies, INSURANCE, (which a track pays no matter if the event rains out or not) fuel, tax, employees wages....I hope you get the point. What about the days that they are calling for rain and 20 cars show up and it doesnt rain....I bet you are the same guy that gets pissed at the track for cutting the purse right?

Yes, I Agree with you it takes money to run a tack or any other business. But when a business makes a profit of $150.000 +++ in one day, yes ONE day that they would have a bracket day. That is the profit for the past few years, with only the hard work and sweat put together by the quick 8 racers including the payouts. I was at the track Sunday, 4 hard core cars showed up. Put up the $ so the car counts go up. Give a little back.

There were four cars? Don't remember, maybe........ They had a large area fenced-off for them, seemed like more people in the bull-pen than cars........
I think the fastest car there wasn't even parked in with them........
I was there racing all day, was parked right next to a Mustang trying to get his Advanced ET passes done, don't think he had much luck taming that thing down....
Was Bob Kasper there? Normally I see him around. Were you racing?????
Nope, not enough payouts for you........
The two Mustangs drew more of a crowd than anything else there!
