I think a heat gun and a puty knife works best .ive tried just thinner and it makes a big mess also tough to clean up the thick undercoating.not a fun job either way.good luck

Get one of those white hazmat suits and a small side grinder with a wire wheel and go to town....

Start with a scraper get off most of the thicker stuff, wire wheel in hard to reach areas and thinners on a rag for the final clean up. Good luck, not a nice job...

spray it on it foams up does,nt run turns the tar into a paper used it years ago to strip the undercoating on a monza when it turned to a paper state i blew it off with the blow gun to reveal shiny paint underneith.

thats a link to what it is don,t know who else sells it now the last time i used it was 1990 something so who knows if they changed the formula so try it on a test piece first.

Dry Ice in the floor boards once it chills it turns hard as a rock just tap with a hammer and pops off. Use the left over dry ice to keep the beer cold.

best advise i could give is use a gasket scraper and a hammer to get most of it off before putting any heat at it depending on how old it is it will just chip off. makes it a lot more difficult to remove once it gets gooey again. i just went through this with my camaro getting all of the 37 year old undercoating off the bottom of the car. looks like it rolled off the assembly line underneath all that crap.
