Had my vehcile soda blasted before it was repainted. did an awesome job of stripping metal. did not have any problems after it was painted of any areas lifting. here is a link to who did mine south of chicago.

No primer on it when it came back. As long as you leave the sode residue on it till your ready to paint it will not rust at all. I had my car painted 6 months after it was soda blasted and the body shop owner loved the way it came in. like virgin metal.

If you're having adhesion issues with the base primer, I would sand that area back to metal with 80 grit, and then whipe on phosphoric acid diluted 10:1 with water and leave it for about 10 minutes. Let it dry overnight, clean it again with soap and water, let it dry and then reshoot with epoxy primer. A 2k epoxy primer directly on clean, bare metal will usually give the best adhesion.

Roughly what did it cost to have the car blasted?

We just had my dads chevelle blased 4-5 weeks ago. $670 for the complete shell.
Wash it with water and ready for the body work. The car is in second prime right now should be painted in 3 weeks.
I was very happy with the results. no warping, and didn't even take the galvanizing off.

when you say the paint lifted, lifting has nothing to do with the soda blasting, and everything to do with the etching primers, primer, sealers, and paint....the big thing to make sure to use the correct etching primers as soon as possible after the blasting, even though you might not see any rust, it can start in the pores of the metal and cause bad problems later on after it is painted
