Anyone care to share where they are on their winter projects?
Our progress is starting to accelerate a little. Have everything to start getting the engine together. New rear housing is fit into the car. About ready to start emptying everything out of the interior so we can start wiring it. Have to send out the fuel pump to Aerospace for some updates...
That's about it for us still a lot of little things to do...

I have spent the last 5 weeks and 4 cases of beer installing a winch in my trailer. Another couple of weeks and it will be finished. I also went to Pep Boys and bough a couple of those pine tree air fresheners. Bradenton is right around the corner. I was thinking about buying a new set of spark plugs but dont know if it is in the budget with all the money spent on beer while putting the winch in.

Winch? We like to drive our car into the trailer. I understand it's a pontiac though and maybe you need a winch to get it back in the trailer.... :smt118

almost have the seats done...
got my k-member finished and ready for the BBC..
today I started on cutting out the cowl area...what a pain in the ass..

also...have the rest of the electrical to do..
hope to get it to the header shop in 3-4 weeks..
I'm shooting for the Bowling Green race..if everything goes..just right..!
Hey Chris..there's a great place in the cowl area for a nitrous bottle...

What was wrong with the old paint???
We had to open the wheel well up in the fall before we went to Vegas so we could run the 29.5 tire and the shade of orange that we had on the car was almost impossible to match so the rear fenders were a shade off. Rather than try to match the orange again, i just said the heck with it and painted it a color we can match if we need to.
I thought about a rap but they're a little pricey. I heard they were like $4000 ?

Refresh my memory if I am wrong. But since 2005, there have only been 2 small blocks to win a race? One SBC and one SBF.
The real question, is if that Pontyack is a small block. Seeing it needs to run at a small block weight!! :smt110

Thursday update... I actually rotated the rear tires before filling them with air to get the beer cans out from under the car. I actually had enough cans to go to the recycling center. I'll keep everyone posted on the results. :)

Sunday update... My girlfriend was sitting in my car on Friday night making race car sounds but unfortunately with a cigarette in her mouth. When I walked into the garage and saw what she was doing, i yelled at her, she dropped the cancer stick and the carpet went up like a section 8 house in North Philly. Burned the carpet real good before I got it out. The carpet needs to be replaced, I didn't have this in the budget. I just dropped the car off at Ed's Trim Shop, I guess I will be going back to drinking Natural Light for a while. The good news is that with the car not at home, there is extra room in the garage for me and my buddies to "work" on the car (or drink more beer).

You have never broken your's, just one burnt band. Have the same in my car and it isn't breaking. other than the 4340 output shaft at the end of the 06 season. it now has the same low drag lite weight part but with a 300M output.

Tuesday update... I picked the car up from Ed's trim shop but had to take it back to the painter. I guess when I had to move the drivers seat back due to being fat bastard, it shifted too much weight to the rear tires and they hit every where. I told my painter that I would just clearance everything with a 5lb sledge and he cringed. If ll goes well, I will be drinking in the garage, errr ahhh working on the car again this weekend.

I got one of those Camaro/Firebird spoilers off of E-bay for $42.50 that comes with the mounting brackets. The supplied center mounting bracket doesnt come close to mounting to anything other then the crank pulley. We had to bend, cut and then weld it to get it to work. Other then that it bolted up pretty effortless. I will have to work on pictures for you.

Thursday update... It worked, it finally worked. I have been keeping my progress on the down low recently. I have been experimenting with a few things. My center section was leaking and I tried to take the easy way out the last few nights to cure the sepage. At first I tried orange perma-tex, that didn't work. I then tried an underwater epoxy, that didn't work either. My last ditch effort was perma-tex right stuff. As a few saw last year in Chicago, this stuff held my oil pan on without any bolts. It took no less then 4 people and 4 36" pry bars to get the pan off. Well I brought out the big guns again and it sealed it right up. The car is going to get aligned on Saturday and then off to Atco for some testing. :)

You guys might get lucky. I am down here in Florida for work. There is talk about moving the outage up a few days. If they do, I will have to miss Bradenton. Unless a miracle happens, it doesn't look good.

It was a little chilly this morning in Cali. I had to wear a jacket when I was taking my Calif Contractors License test. The good news is that I finished early and will head to the beach to get a hotel there for the night.

I'm not leaving until around 6 or so tonight to miss the traffic. When my motor was built over the winter we had a LONG wait for rings for the new pistons so the motor was put back together with the old ring package/pistons. Well the new rings came in so the motor came out and the new pistons went in, no big deal. Rumor has it that there is power in those ring packages.
