Hello
I am doing a job for a guy, who is going to have these pcs powdercoated afterwards
How smooth does it have to be for powdercoating, does it fill at all?
thanks for any info

it does not fill much at all... the surface needs to be as smooth as you want the finish to be.

Typically between 4 and 6 thousands, the texture will resemble what you send, that is unless the coater screws up and gets it orange pealy.

Yes the parts need to be smooth and the thickness will also be influenced by his coating choice, smooth, hammered, wrinkled, or multi-coat powder.

I have never had anything to do with powdercoating
It does not seem to fill as well as POR 15 does with only .005- .006 thick

Thanks very much for your responses
I will finish these pcs as smooth as I can and with the info given, they should be more than OK. As long as it can go on a little thicker that will be great
thanks again

for best results its also wise to media blast the part and make sure it,s 100% grease/oil free
