I was thinking of trying one of these air/fuel monitering systems that dynojet sells. I heard they work well but don't know anyone that has one on there car. Was wondering if you guys could give me any info on these are they worth the money?? Any info would be appreciated.

If it can't datalog the run is gonna be a waste of money.. I dont know about others but I keep my eye on the track and not the gauges.. :?

Monty it can data log the run that is why i want to try it. I also watch the track and not the gauges :-D but yes it shows the air fuel mix through the rpm range.

Are you running nitrous? If so save your money.. If not the thing is pretty cool.. I downloaded the software and some datalogs.. For N/A stuff it looks pretty cool.. Not sure what the S/C or Turbo stuff runs at A/F ratio wise so I can't say for that.. But Im thinking I better learn quick :-D

I don't explain it too well but I know that my nitrous motor would show PIG FAT on the wide band O2 but the plugs would be lean lean lean. It has something to do with all of the fuel you dump in a nitrous motor to cool it down. I wouldn't bother with one on a nitrous deal. Read the plugs.

Most wide band 02 senors will only go to a A/F mixture of 10.0 that is kinda safe, but thats the edge of being lean when spraying over 400 hp,the kind of numbers you should see above that would be in the area of 8,50 up to around 9.50

Thats what I have seen on tests done on a chassis dyno
Also Jim is your wide band recorder calibrated correct?
Where is your fuel ring on the plugs?

Nitrous is tricky to tune from a wide band, but Jim is right watch the plugs
Spark Plugs are like the anal themometer in a nitrous engine, watch the fuel ring, and of coarse the ground strap for ignition timming.
Ignition is an other story,,save that for another post

Hey thanks Tom. I wasn't trying to take the place of reading plugs not with nitrous no way. I was hoping to get a chance to see what the a/f ratio was like through the rpm range while going down the track. Thanks guys i guess i'll save the money and keep reading plugs. 8)
