View Full Version : Are there any fast blow through carb turbo cars out there???

I've thought about going turbo a time or two (I honestly can't make up my mind), but right now I can't afford to do the EFI swap... Would it be feasible to run in the 8 second range with a blow through carb setup, or should I just keep saving for EFI... I would plan on going to EFI eventually, but that would have to be down the road...

goto http://www.turbomustangs.com/smf/index.php, there is a blow through forum as well as a GM section. there are quite a few darn fast blow through cars there on that board. there is a dude with a BBC truck with a blow through single that is crazy fast.

Bill Lutz is actually the fastest blow-thru with his twin-turbo'd big block. Jim is the quickest single ( I think) and on drag radials.

And Jim Powski built both combos.. So it looks like your at the right place for that question.. Give Powski a call at his shop and he will be more than happy to help...

I've got a customer running low 8s with a 510ci BB, F2 Procharger with a CSU blowthru carb. This is a 3500lb stock suspension car. It makes a ton of power and so far has been pretty reliable.
