25.5 states full bodied car with oem frame, firewall and floor. 3600lbs
25.4 states states full tube chassis. 3600lbs
Does that mean with my factory floor/firewall and stock frame intact that I can only go 25.5? Just need to know before I send away for the sfi specs

Thanks, what all do you get for the $35. Seems like SFI is cleaning up in the cash flow dept. charging for each spec
Without seeing the specs and bar placement , do you think I can still run the stock seats

I just got the 25.2 spec. book. It is pretty nice. its basically a bound legal size booklet with nicely organized drawings of the whole chassis as well as detailed drawings of each area and all bar sizes and it is color coded which makes it easy to understand.as far as the seats, they included in mine, options for driver placement, like inline with main hoop or behind main hoop. its pretty thourough.
I agree they are cleaning up by charging for each spec seperatly.

stock seats should not be a problem.make sure you READ the whole booklet! alot of info in there.i had a mustang at my last cert. that the owner was told it was 25.2 and the cert guy asked me to come out and figure out what it it might cert to.after a little deliberation we figured it would go 25.4 (up to 7.50 3600)not 25.2(up to 6.0 3200).cert guy told the owner to tell his chassis guy to reread his sfi booklet. :smt005

Do you think 25.5 is possible eith the stock Bench Seat. It is the typical 68-72 A-Body bench that has the split in the middle on the back portion to fold forward for rear seat access.

if u can get a funny car cage to fit in there with that seat it prob wont be a problem, but they dont really care about what seat you have , they want to see the bars in the right places. i dont know if u could get all the bars where they need to be with a stock bench.

At my last cert, i asked the NHRA guy if i could 25.5 my car and keep the bench seat, he told me , if all the bars are there, yes, i figure the seat may need to be "narrowed" a little, maybe take 2" off to get the funny car cage bar through that split in the middle of the back, just be prepared to make some alterations to the seat instead of making the cage fit the seat, i was also thinking about having alum sheet added to the seat were the springs are so in case of an accident there will be more support
