Hey gang.. i am almost finished with the schedule. Still waiting to hear from a track or two but here is the general breakdown. I dont want to make you guys wait any longer.
April 26th - National Trail Raceway - Columbus, OH (Combo race with the UMTR South Stick Shift Series!)
May 24th - Action City Dragway - Terre Haute, IN (tentative)
June 28th - ET Raceway - Bloomington, IN
July 12th - US 41 Dragway - Morocco, IN
August 23rd - ET Raceway - Bloomington, IN
Spetember 27th - Action City Dragway - Terre Haute (tenative)
The reason we are waiting to firm up Terre Haute's dates is that there will be a new manager for the dirt track and Dallas would like to wait & see what the USAC schedule is going to be so that we arent competing with them for spectators. The drag strip is on the same property as the fair grounds. I will let you know who we fill in the July date with as soon as it is worked out. But hte rest of the schedule is solid. Thanks for you patience!
Kelly
*updated to reflect US 41 date, Muncie is pending*

Is Dallas still planning on having the track expansion done? I know he was hospitalized for a bit and that delayed the ground-breaking.

Im not sure. When i talked to him he said that he was in the hospital because he had a heart attack *yikes*. I didnt get to ask him about the track, but hopefully that is still in the plans. Either way, the track hooked like no tomorrow, the only thing id like to see changed is the wall of dirt at the end and maybe replace that with a catch net.

See that Matt only a couple of months to get that car rollin' again wasn't it's last appearance at Terra Haute a few years ago?
Maybe if you'ld let your wife play tennis she would let you race cars instead of watching the scales this year.

Yes actually.... just confirmed July 12th will be at US 41 Dragway in Morocco, IN. The May date may change to Muncie if he & I can work something out. Otherwise it'll be Terre Haute!

Nope. I have tried to call and email. Kept being told they will get back to me. Dave was supposed to call me 3 weeks ago and never did. Then i hear they are going to do their own thing, so once again Muncie hung me out to dry. It wont happen again. I am gettin tired of trying to do business with people who cant even pick up the phone and give a little common courtesy.

Kelly,
If Terre Haute doesn't fall through bring the race back to Columbus. I'm sure he's got some room for you.

Hey Kelly, I think the track at London, KY has been trying to get some heads-up racing going. That might help draw in some racers a little more south of your usual area. They don't have scales I don't think, so that could be a big problem unless you can find some portable ones to use.

Damn that sucks, I wish they would have at least called you and told you yes or no. That isn't very professional to just blow you off like that. I think that would have been a good addition to the O.S.M.! Thanks for trying though Kelly!!

last years turn out for columbus wasnt so hot.
three big reasons why......
1. OSCA put their date on my date
2. There was a huge car show the same weekend in Columbus that i did not know about till it was too late
3. I should have promoted it better

Yep i wish they had also. I would have liked to know either way, plus i made the mistake of waiting on them to finalize the schedule and that caused everything else to be put on hold. You're right, not very professional. I think it would have been a good event at Muncie too, thats why i waited so long to hear something. Still havent gotten a call back either lol not that im expecting it now.
I know it might be a bit further north, but we will be back at US 41, hope you can make it there!

Have you considered the bigger tracks like 66 or IRP?

66 is pretty much out of the question. They are only open for a few big events and a couple of slick only days. Its a shame because that track is awesome. I had tried to contact IRP last year but didnt have any luck. Maybe for next year though (or if Terre Haute tanks this year) I think as the series gains more attention it will allow me to bring the show to bigger & better tracks, successfully.
