View Full Version : Intercooler info?

I know this is not a chassis question,but I was told Bill might be able to help with this one.
Does anyone know where I could get some pics or info on an air/water intercooler buildup. Im talking about a Large one like 2000 hp capable.
I hate to buy anything I can fabricate myself so I am gathering Ideas.

Looks very Nice! Thanks Billy. I will give you a call when I am ready to start building. What is a ball park on price for all necessary Materials for something like this? 8)

you'll spend around 1000 on cores and around 300 on material ,fittings ,tubing.use .100 or better alum. for end tanks for both water and air.If you do not have alot of experience with this type of fabrication i do not recommend doing this yourself.the only way to pressure test is to weld the cores together and then weld the water tanks on and pressure test.if you have a leak you have to cut it apart and hope you can find the leak.not saying you can't do it just sayin it could get costly and time consuming.i used to weld alot of coolers for precision turbo and moran and only had one leak but i chased it for a couple of days come to find out it was a defect in the core!i am a dealer for precision and can get you cores if you decide to do it or i can get you a price on a complete unit.
p.s. monty the camera is fine it is just the guy using it! :(
