part number 19166097 You have any pricing on that block? I thought they were to be priced close to or the same as the standard lsx block.

from what i heard and seen on ls1tech.com the price difference was between 200-300

dont hold me to that it was about 6 months ago when i saw the thread-

from memory it is not out yet and will be out early jan/feb

world products aka warhwak have both normal+tall deck blocks out in alloy if u are in need of tall deck ls block with a weight saving-

no chance- let me get this right lsx cast iron normal deck block- going by ebay and dealer+shop prices $1650-1950 is the most i have seen in the last 3 months-

and u reckon for the lsx cast iron tall deck is $5,000-

it could not be-if so they will be stuck with a shit load-

i know from memory the warkhawk alloy blocks and its tall deck are costly but no where near 5 k

who or where did u get the quote from-

maybe the part number u got is wrong and it could be the 427 c5r block which is very costly-

thats the only block in the ls family that is costly-

and why the hold up-

something wrong or is it because gm is looking for a new block maker-

was told that on ls1tech that gm was looking for a new block maker-

can anyone confirm this on here as all i got was a rumor- when i asked if it was true or not-

Call Ed at Flowtech http://www.flowtechinduction.com/ Hes tight with GM and had an LSX before WJ:smt082 He can probably set you straight.

According to the GMPP statements may-june seems correct.

How much taller is the deck? Is that the only difference? (i.e. raised cam, spread pan rails, etc.)

thx...

that,s the Canadian pricing market , i remember back in the mid to late 90,s i priced out some 18deg heads from the catalog and they cost more then a complete LS7 BBC when GM was still selling them at that time the LS7 was around $7995 up here , i think the heads bare where around $4200 each for the hi-port

Dude you need to call me, I sell them for $2500 cdn. I'm in Pickering and have a LSx block at the shop if you want to check it out. Et heads and AFR's also kicking around. Lots of stock! I've built 450 + LSX's in the past 10 years. Tall decks are .440" taller and will arrive in June. I'd go with some custom made ETP heads in the 6 bolt configuration.
