Dart has been making a 225 head for LS1s for a couple years now. I used to use a set..

They tend to be slow on product updates on the site. Email John Keyes at Dart and ask him directly. jkeyes@dartheads.com.

Title says 255, not 225.
ETP would be my choice also for what it's worth. They can do anything and everything for you.

Just would be interesting to see all my options. Rule #1 seems to be that you buy something and something new and improved comes out the next week.

I currently have Dart's and have access to cnc ported AFR's
how thick is the deck on the L92's?
Mayeb I will just port the Dart's
Not sure what to do, but it will be a nitrous setup (300 shot on a plate)

With the Darts I had to put new head gaskets on every 10-15 passes and it it would push a quart of water into the overflow every pass. I even had the Dart's surfaces twice.
So I bought a set of AFRs and bolted them on and ran the car a whole season (100 or so passes) and never pushed a drop until the last couple times out with the car and it would move maybe a pint a pass.
L92 isnt any better than a stock LS1 head as far as deck thickness.
I was using a LS6 block and I may have had better results with a LS2 Block with the siamesed bores and all. Find out this season :)
Either way the Darts were decent heads and made good power, if you have them I would try them.

Well if sticking with the darts is an option then have CFE or someone run a program through them if they have enough meet. As for deck thickness the ET and AFR both have very very thick decks.

So I called dart, the ls1 is the unported version of the ls7 head. The ls1 is the 225 and the ls7 is the 255. They do not have the extra 2 bolt holes for the 6 studs per cylinder. Who makes a head with the extra bolt holes? I am using an lsx block and would like to use that option.

All-Pro is showing a 6 bolt (LS7 style) head too but I dont know if they are available, All-Pros have a hefty deck and they dont have the big water holes like stock. ET heads are the same way and have a lot of the big water holes closed up to a small round hole to match the gaskets..

I am going to give them a call. Those Hurricane heads are serious.

ET has a 6 bolt head for the lsx block. They offer all of their 11degree ETP offerings with 6 bolts per cyinder attachment for both the LSX from GMPP and the Warhawk from world products. They also have a ls7 head that'll stomp a mud hole in the hurricanes. They make sheet metal intakes to if your looking for big power. If you are sticking with ls1 style ports the ETP 265 11degree might be what your looking for. Slap on a GMPP sinlge plane with port matching and they will knock down a house with airflow. If you need help selecting drop me a line via PM.I don't think if your looking for big big power the offerings from Dart or AFR can keep up. Depends on the combo.

You guys need to learn how to tune your car. I would start by getting some EGTs on each cylinder so you can see why you are lifting you heads. Heads lift cause of detonation.
I have seen over 900rwhp with stock casting heads.
See sig for my setup......I use Dart heads that where ported by TEA and I have not lifted a head yet with more then 40 passes on them.
