What are you guys running for times? 60' must be fun with that small of a tire!

The quickest pass I have seen was a 5.66 in the 120's for MPH. It is amazing what these guys do on that small of a tire. Generally it is a 5.80 to 6.10 class. I have heard of high 1.20 60fts. Pretty cool.

Try 5.67 on 28x11.5 ET Streets. They have just over 8.5 tread width. We (the True Street class) have added 275 60 drag radials as an option so who knows how low now

with several PSCA cars running high 7,s on that little tire i think the class is gonna be hopping now , i believe Artis ran in the 5 teens with the 275 , that,ll stir some shit in the class with ET potenials like that .

We've ran on both the 28x11.5 ET Streets, and the 8.5 slicks (M&H). The 8.5 slicks hook alot better, can 60' around 1.32 on slicks, only 1.42 on ET Streets. Those little slicks work alot better than what you would think. 5.67 is flying on an ET Street.

Manny Figueroa has been 5.15 to the 1/8, 1.23 60 ft on a 275/60/15

I have been 1.39 60ft on a 28/11.5 et street@3160lbs.

Gary Brandt has gone 8.89@160 on a 28/11.5 Et Street @3200 with a sbf/single stage plate unit.

Not sure of anyone else. I would love if they had a 26/8.5 slick tire class out here.

Is this true about the 275/60's? think it would ruin the class In my opinion drag raiidial should be a diffren class or make it 235/60

Yup, you are correct. Dave has gone 7.84@179 and Artis has gone 7.90@176
Manny Figueroa has gone 7.92@176 @2950
All three have stock suspension.
Not sure of Dave's ( think he has the torque arm), but Artis is leaf springs with CalTracs and Manny's has adjustable uppers and Robert V's Fast Tracks Traction Bars. He also has the best 60ft I have heard on the 275's at 1.23

Don't believe everything you read. I never at any races seen any car come close to a 5.40 on a 8.5. I been 5.78 testing on a good track but I never ran this number in a event. Trust me, its hard but its fun trying to get the car down the track.
Those guys who run 8.5 for real are good. As for me I rather have the rubber 10.5.

what do the cars typically weigh in this class ??

What kind of F/R Balance are people running in this class? Bigger D/R tires seem to like at least 51% rear, do the 8.5's like even more rear weight bias?

==================
2008 OSM 8.5 Outlaw Weights:
Small block N/A – 2750 lbs
Small block single power adder – 3200 lbs
Big block N/A – 3000 lbs
Big block single power adder – 3300 lbs
Add 50lbs for fogger
Add 100lbs for multi-stage NOS
Deduct 50 lbs for non-intercooled forced induction engine
4 Cylinder deduct 500 lbs from small block weight
6 Cylinder deduct 300 lbs from small block weight
Buick, Pontiac and Oldsmobile engine combinations run at small block weight

I should have that info posted after PRI. I was hoping to know it before hand so i could get mailers out and have something to take with me but a few tracks are waiting until after the show to set their schedules because of the big NHRA meeting.

I can say that we will be at Columbus and ET for sure. Hope to see you out! :)

As far as I know, the fastest pass on 26x8.5s is 5.64 by Gerald Boyd. I ran 5.66 earlier that same day this past October at the OSCA race in Hardinsburg, KY. Prior to that day, the record was 5.71 I believe.

Hey mike. . .that's my junk. 5.85 @ 122 is my best with a 1.38 short time on the M/T 26x8.5's on a 7" rim. I think it still has a lot more in it on the top end. I haven't run it since November 2006, so no opportunites to imrove.

I'm moving from Kali to South Carolina on Sunday, so I'll be a lot closer to the outlaw action.

At the bounty race at Crossville, TN last week we went 5.645 at 127+mph. We know the mph was off because of what others have told us about the track. The car weighs in at 3235 lbs with driver. We have been 1.29 in the 60' this year but on that pass we were 1.32 60'. That is on a M&H 26 x 8.5 tire. Car is driven by David Pouw. At the same track Craig Watson went 5.66 on the same type of tire.
