What was the performance numbers for last year? I really like the idea of running 1/8 mile! Plus the stock frame rails and the heavier weights are great!

The last race saw a couple of 5.20's and a 5.19
Generally 5.30's put you in the hunt.

We plan on being back unless for some reason the car sells. Kelly has the OSM rules already posted. Kevin made the comment that the rules for the OSCA may change for 8.5. I guess we'll just sit back and wait to hear what happens. Looks like it's going to take some serious testing and upgrades over this winter with the numbers Craig and Gerald layed down at the last OSCA race. Both running 5.66's is just plain out gettin' it on 8.5's. What's your plans?

I pulled the engine, gonna have Timmy freshen it up, its due after 4yrs of beating on it!! Why the hell does he want to change the rules, this class is tight, still afordable. You are correct, everyone will have to step up there game, because that 5.66 Craig layed down is awesome, and the consistansy Gerald has is phenominal!
I would like to run some OSM, just depends on the work schedule. Tell Art take that For Sale sign out of that car!

Jason your taking a pretty good beating lol.
Hope to see more of you guys out next year! I am almost finished with the schedule, just waiting on a few things. But you can plan on most of the races being at the end of the month. As far as i know, no conflicts with NMRA, OSCA or the Valley. I put a call into Kevin to get with him on his schedule but he never called back :smt102

I was checking out the rules. Just making sure here, ladder bar car, big block chevy, fogger with 4 solenoids, 3450? By the way, nice job on the schedule. By the looks of things you wont have to worry about conflicting with the OSCA. Anyway, looking forward to racing the entire series next year.

Depending on the year of your car, your either 3400 or 3450 (50 for the ladder bars on 1979 & up Mustangs and 1982 & up F-Bodies) Thanks on the schedule, it is not set in stone but its pretty solid at this point. I made sure no races would conflict with NMRA, OSCA or Valley events, and i think we only overlap with one or maybe two NMCA. Not easy to work around all those lol. Lookin forward to having you out next year! :)

Any chance of having a "pro street" class with similar rules to osca? I talked to Jason at the last terre haute race and he said that you might want to do something.

Hey Rick.... yes i am definitely wanting to have a Pro Street/10.5 type of class. I am down here at the PRI show gettin folks interested :) I need to guarantee the purse before i can officially add it back in. If i am not able to find a sponsor who wants to fund the class full time, then i may look at adding the class in when i can get someone to cover the purse. But, i would definitely like to have it all season and with a points fund as i have in the past. If you or anyone else knows of someone who is interested, please let me know!

Send me a pm when you get back about what it would take to get a sponsor for the class. Good luck at PRI, wish I was there I think we are supposed to get snow here tomorrow!

Cool, somewhere else to race.,,,,,,maybe???
Kelly, the rules for XS say bolt in front suspension. I have a Heidts Mustang 2 (typical streetrod type) kit in mine, NOT bolt in. IT is legal in NMCA XS as their rules specifically allow these kits in the older cars...."For 1978 & earlier model years, OEM strut tower/shock tower may be removed in lieu of installing/using commercially available suspension kit (i.e., Heidt, Fatman, etc). Other sections of front suspension rules must be adhered to."
any chance you could use the same wording? I am sure there are some others that have this setup as it is VERY popular in the older cars.
Can I come play???
Thanks,
Jack Pereira

Hi Jack.... It looks like even though some welding is required, you still retain some of the stock front frame rail, it just needs to be notched. I do not see a problem with allowing that, the rest is basically bolt on. I dont think anyone else would have an issue with allowing you to run but i will talk it over with my tech guy and we will add some type of wording into the rules if it needs to be clarified further. I have heard of alot of these same rules questions pertaining to the 78 and older cars with the outdated front suspensions. Welcome to the playground, try not to get any sand in your undies hehehe :p. Be happy to have ya!
