TCI Pro-X Powerglide

I have a New TCI Pro-X Powerglide transmission with JW case and bellhousing. It's all set-up for 157 tooth parts but will change it out for 164 if it cretes a sale. This is a top of the line trannie. Here's a quick rundown on it.

Pro-X Powerglide
JW case
JW bellhousing
JW "the wheel" 157 tooth flexplate
TCI roller bearing tailshaft
1.80 straight cut gears
10-clutch high gear bearing gear drum
deep aluminum pan

Ok, Tom.... Here is a few answers for you! I have had 3 complete TCI Pro-x set-ups in the past 4-6 months. All three was purchased brand new from TCI. I broke the first one and instead of waiting on TCI to repair it i just purchased another one, then after TCI repaired it i had it for sale and sold it to a member on here. I think his name was Ben Wirt. Well after speaking to a TCI rep i decided to try a new set-up that was supposed to be 50 pounds or so lighter than their regular pro-x so i purchased it to try it out, well after it has been tested and trued i decide to keep it so inthe mean time Mike emailed me about an add i had for a trnnie for sale, well i did indeed have a hole set-up again for sale and this is what mike is purchasing. Keep in mind all these set-ups have around 6-10 passes on them so basically they are brand new TOM, and i considered them a spare(even though they were new).... Mike has his tracking number as agreed. Things will be taken care of as mike and i have agreed upon. I have sold a number of parts and bought a few on this sight! Will inform you guys when transaction is complete.

Rest assured the tranny you got is a pro-x tranny & converter. I am the guy that originally sold your tranny & converter to Charles. He ran it, broke the tranny & converter and sent it in to TCI for repair. I was suppposed to get the returned converter credited to my account though...... Does anyone run a TCI tranny with real horsepower cars? I see know 1 out there running TCI stuff. TCI builds a cheap tranny for street strip cars running 10secs and slower IMO thats about the only use I would have for them. But I havent used there stuff for 10 years.

I think nearly the entire NMRA Drag Radial class is running a Pro-X piece from Tony at TCi. 8.0's, 8.teens at 3300-3500 pounds.

I had 1 once it was brand new and it lasted about 3 times to the track in a 9 sec car a turbo 400 to boot I would never buy another TCI again after that to me they are junk!!

If you have ever used paypal you will know that it takes 3-4 business days. If i do it this way it will be around 11-12 days before its all transferred. If you remember when you sent me the money it took 8 days for it to be transferred into my account because you are in Canada. I thought that I explained all of this very clearly to you when this deal happened. But it's obvious that I must have not got my point accross. Just for the record, Charles bought the trans from someone else that is a dealer for us. The trans broke (I didn't know). Charles then bought another trans (for a spare) directly from TCI. Charles called me and said that he has sold the PRO-X (in JW bell and case) to someone but wanted it checked. That was the story that I was told. I specifically told you that if the tranny was not new and had damage, that we would take care of it because it was still in warranty. There was a band problem and one cross threaded hole in the case where the tailhousing bolts to the case. Instead of drilling and tapping the hole, we built it with a brand new case. To clearify everything with TCI.......... TCI isnt the problem here, they have been EXTRA considerate to repairing broken parts that were far from there problem. Repaired the broken parts with no questions asked. I also think another leading factor to the trannie failures was my driveshaft was too long and had the trannie in a bind. I specifically told you that if the tranny was not new and had damage, that we would take care of it because it was still in warranty. There was a band problem and one cross threaded hole in the case where the tailhousing bolts to the case. Instead of drilling and tapping the hole, we built it with a brand new case. For the record I had a TCI turbo 400 years ago brand new bought from summit it said it was x amount HP rated and my motor was far less and it broke I bought another 1 and the same problem happened. So my expirence with your product was a bad 1. I am pretty sure Petty/Lynch run the new ATI tranny not yours. As far as my car and staging it was a mechanical problem as to why it didnt work for most of last year and the fact the weld on the wastegate kept on breaking IE no boost!! And when I was racing mid 8 sec cars I would sit at the line trying to build boost I didnt have to worry about reacting due to the fact my car ran 7.4s on a bad day. Anyways like I said I dont know nothing about your Pro X tranny maybe its good maybe not but the 1 this guys selling was broke so thats all I need to know. I wont run a powerglide with my new combo I dont think they will hold up and the ATI Lynch is running cost about 7k and you dont even own it your leasing it so not interested in that. I will run a rossler 2.10 or his new 2 speed turbo!!

No problem dude my issue was at that time I didnt want to ship it in for warranty service and lose racing time so I bought another 1 and had the same issue. The prob was the tranny wasnt strong enough for what I was doing it just took me 2 trannies to figure it out. I should of delt with someone 1st hand instead of buying 1 I just figured the advertised HP rating was all that mattered I found out different. IM just not big on shipping heavy shit rather have a local place do my work and if problems arise drive it to them. I now just follow the leader and use products that guys doing what I do or better use.

Charles sold me a trans that was supposed to be a PA glide with all the good internals that were good for 1500+ hp along with a PTC 9.5" converter. Very long story short, after waiting 3.5 months from when he recieved the money, my transmission shows up. I have to add that we did have some trouble with dealing with the border here, so this is not entirely Charles fault, but 3.5 months is a little extreme. Anyways, once the trans showed up, I dropped it off at my builder to have it gone through. He calls me back with the bad news, the trans is basically stock inside, stock gearset, clutches, etc. He also said that the clutches were starting to get burnt, some of the bearings were shot and the hub is cracked. Also, the converter that was sent had no PTC markings or serial number on it, so I called Lane and he confirmed that it was not a PTC converter. No idea what it is. So I called Charles about this, he said that he bought it as a 1500 hp capable trans and it worked fine when he ran it. I said fine, I'll send all this stuff back to you and give me a refund, because this is not what I paid for. He said ok, but it would take him a while to get the money together.......and from that point, there has been delay after delay on his part.

I had my builder assemble the trans with new gaskets and replace the odd bearing that was completely trashed so it would be in the exact same working order as I recieved it if not better. It along with the converter is ready to ship back to Charles as soon as I recieve my refund. I can absolutely guarentee that I have not used this transmission, the car its going in is a roller with no motor. I'm not try to screw anyone over here, I just want my money back and he'll get his parts back. I don't go around buying stock transmissions, shipping them all the way up to Canada, blowing them up and trying to get my money back. Not my idea of a good time.

So Mr. Hull, I'm waiting for my $3000 dollars back. Ball is in your court.

I too have had a transaction with Mr. Hull, I reponded to the ad 1056868 on racing junk, sent money on 1/9/08 and in turn recieved a portion of what was advertised. I did not get the tubing from the blower to firewall nor did I get the two Procharger blow off valves that were advertised. Charles agreed to send me two new red Procharger blow off valves as he was keeping the others and the tubing- I still have not received them. This has been a true learning experience for me.

He races in orsca EZ street. I have talked to him a couple times. He just got the car going and was at the last two orsca races last year. He's been around a LONG time doing the same thing over and over again. He actually told me on the phone (3-4 years ago) that the reason he ripped people off was because it was so easy to do. Then said he had "changed"....just like he said he had done on the Corral....right before he was banned for shady deals...again.
