Hey new to this site!
Have a quick question! I have a sharpe T1 spray gun and I also have a satajet digital spray gun. Both are good guns, but I am looking to buy a new one! Any idea on what to buy? These guns are for base clears only!
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

i pretty much use Sata NR2000 or binks hvlp which is now owned by devilbis.you really can't go wrong with either 3.
I prefer the sata for clear and the other 2 for base coat.

I've used the milllennium gun. It's a good gun. I did get an extra size smaller orifice on the tip, but I tend to spray lower temp reducers than most, only going to the big tip on hot days. Think I still prefer my Sata HVLP.
A good painter can lay it down with a water hose. lol

sata NR2000 green cap base gun w/1.4 tip sprays metallics like no other guns ive used real easy to get uniformity.and an IWATA LPH 400 1.3 tip for clears .pretty much spray all day everyday and ive used different product (dupont, basf, ppg and sherwin williams sherwin being the worst paint on the planet )these are the guns i would recommend .i use my devillbess gti to spray my sealers.

The only problem with the SATA guns is they are pretty expensive to maintain compared to all other guns, the Needles, fluid tip,air cap must be bought in a complete set...they can range from 200+ to 140.00 to replace, If you are not a meticulous gun maintaner/cleaner, dont buy one, you will spend a small fortune keeping it in good condition, Iwata has some real good guns right now, Devilbiss GTI as well as the GFG670 are really good

i use a sata and love it at the price of a sata up here it only makes sense to look after it. plus when i use it to make a living with it i found that it pays to buy the tool once and look after it

i painted cars DAILY 3 to 5 a day with a Sharpe GFG, it got used so much the blue anodize wore off to the bare alum where your thumb sits !! LOL
Now i work at a major about body supplier, and i get to see all the guns out there, and deal with all the people that use them, the SATA are very nice, but to me you can get 2 to 3 very good guns Iwata, Devilbiss, Etc for the money you spend on Satas, And yea some guys are like you they keep them very clean, on the other hand i have guys that replace needles all the time, and i laugh because they have literally THOUSANDS $$$ in just one spray gun.......
I can get any guns i want for free.....
I have Devilbiss, and Sharpe....i may get an iwata, why no sata??
Im too cheap to buy the needle set if it ever needs one LOL LOL

I agree, the Sata is a nice gun but must be kept spotless, I teach at a tech school and the needles don't last and are around $200 for the kit.

I am in California and spray 3-6 cars a day 5 days a week. I only use Sata, and have 5 of them. I dont understand why you people are going through tips and caps so often. I have 2 base guns, both 1.3 that used to be used as clear guns. Whenever I buy a new gun, I use it for clear. Obviously the old clear gun then becomes a new base gun. I have some old NR97 guns still that have the original needle and seat. No problems....Im not meticulous when cleaning, but dont leave them dirty either. I thoroughly clean them about once every 2 months. Why are you all going through caps and needles so much?

my nr2000 sata is 6 years old and gets well used and i have never had to buy any parts for it.i can't see any reason why the tips shouldn't last unless your not filtering your paint before you stick it in the cup:confused:
