short block..doing l92 heads and been thinking either uping the comp to like 9.77 and running 200 shot..or a pt76 or 88 with a blow threw setup.
i would change the rod bolts out and thats it till i get more money up for pistons and rods.
so what would be the max boost and power i could go with for turbo..i was told by a bunch of people 700rwhp could be done with juice.
if i can do that with boost i will be happy..this is a fully race trans, rear and stall

Sevral problems. Yes people have made that much power on stock internals. Is it a good idea ? that can be questionable. The real issue is room for error. One small tunning mistake and kaboom. My biggest fear in not the rods. Its the slugs. If you put slugs in it the comfort level at that much power is much much higher.

yeah i was just reading the slugs are the weak link..
i think i'm going to find some dish pistons meant for a 6.125 rod..and just do that..then i will run the car on motor till i get the turbo kit all done and bolt that on with a blow threw carb setup..

Check out the mahle powerpack stuff. But if your running l92 heads i would be calling diamond as Mahle does not offer a piston with the correct valve reliefs as of yet.

i found a used set of diamond pistons..part # 8519 i think..there 4.030 bore and meant for a 4" crank and 6.125 rod..
so with a 3.622 crank and 6.200 rod they will work for me seeing my slug will be down bore and should give me 8.3-1 comp

If i am reading this right your slug would be almost .200 down the hole.

the comp height on the pistons are 1.125
so with a std 9.24 deck block
6.300 rod = d/b .004
6.250 rod = d/b .054
6.200 rod = d/b .104

.100 down is going to absolutely kill compression. find a different slug.

it would be for a turbo..so the 8.3 would be good..but i'm going n2o now.

low compression is not your friend if you can afford to run race fuel. For a turbo motor on 110 making 800 hp i would like to see the engine around 9.5:1 and on nitrous it would be better to be up around 10.5:1. It will require less spark advance to make the same power and actually help avoid detonation.
