I would say no, unless you have inner frame rails that are tube style. Just make it look like the 2x3 are just along for the ride.

but Im not a chassis man, I just have a copy of the specs

What part is 2X3 ? Is it the rear frame rails? If it's the sub frame connectors then I would say no. In the cert the only part they care about is the center part of the car. Firewall forward or anything after the main hoop there is no spec for. You can buy the spec for $35. Hope this helps.

I was under the ussumption, based on weight that 25.5 allowed mild steel/chrome moly, and 25.2 was all chrome moly ?

i think if you just use the rear frame rails and the rest was moly from firewall to behide the seat and the rear X brace and such it will be legal , guys build stock suspension/stock floorpan cars that are 25.2 legal this is similiar IMO .

The 25.2 sfi spec is similar to the 25.1 except that the vehicle is allowed to be heavier. 25.1 stops at 2800 lbs. Everything within the driver capsule must be moly tubing in complience with the 25.2 spec. The back half and front half can be 2x3 mild steel or moly tubing. The frame rails thru the drivers capsule must be round tubing and moly. Please obtain a copy of the sfi spec from www.sfifoundation.com (http://www.sfifoundation.com) so you can pass certification. Good luck.

Sorry, I currently do only IHRA. I have talked with NHRA and there seems to little interest. They think they have enough inspectors. I do however think that a race car should need only one tag. IHRA or NHRA shouldn't matter. The same with license and physical. Ya know, it would be like having to get a license and registration in each state you drive thru.

Makes sence, but neither one is willing to give up the all mighty dollar!
