Should have my 555 together and ready for the dyno in a month or so. I plan on doing some all motor and a lot of nitrous racing. Running a 7.6 index class.

Here is the combo
555
Oliver steel rods
Venoila Nitrous pistons, 13.5 to 1
Hellfire rings
Two Foggers
Brodix-3 heads, titanium valves
Sniper intake

The heads, intake and pistons have had a lot or work done to them by Darin Morgan at ReherMorrison before he left. The idea was to make them very nitrous friendly, lots of exhaust flow, profiled pistons, etc.

The max amount of nitrous I forsee is 500 total, one big hit or two smaller

I am thinking c-12 for motor and c-16 for nitrous. I would also be intersted in trying some of the new oxyegenated fuels for NA stuff on the dyno and track........to be honest I have a bit of a grudge match going with a buddies 565, motor to motor and I would like any edge I can get.

Thanks,

John

John,

I don't have experience with that big of a shot of N2O, so I can't help there, but N/A C-12 would be a good choice. If you want to try some of the new oxygenated fuels VP113 should work well in your combo.

Good Luck,

Jason G.

John,

I would recommend the new Q16. It will make power N/A and will handle all your nitrous chores. It is an oxygenated fuel. When you richen the fuel system, it effectively raises the octane 4 or more points. Plus you still make power where normally you would be really rich. Give it a shot, it will be worth it.

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks I will.....not sure what you mean it will raise the octane if you richen the system ?? You mean when the nitrous comes on the fuel raises its octane ??

When you richen the fuel and make it fatter, normally the engine will be safer with nitrous, but your power will fall off. With Q16 you can richen the system, effectively making the engine run safer, but still make more power. It's like this, 93 octane fuel at a perfect 14.7 to 1 afr is good for say 10.5 to 1 compression. If you fatten the carb so that it is 10.1 to 1 afr, you could run say 13 to 1 compression without detonation. When you put more fuel in the engine, it will be safer, but most of the time not make as much power. With Q16 it will be safer, and still make more power. Let me know if you need any help.

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks. I read the tech report on Q-16 and it sounds very promising. I will give it a try.
