The BMF head will work very well out of the box, as will the 18's that Curtis does. I have spoken in depth with Curtis about his stuff, getting them big enough to feed the bigger inch small blocks with his CNC deal. Either head will work great for the 406 on spray for an out of the box deal. I feel Curtis may have a little better advantage with his design, and the price doesn't hurt either. I tend get bare castings and port/build each one to the combination. The 406 doesn't need a real big MCSA to feed it, and at 268cc runners, you should be fine.

I don't know which casting is best, but my GM 18 degree castings that were welded, rolled, and ported by CFE to 13 degrees work well.
I ran 8.19 at 170.2 mph naturally aspirated with a 440 sbc on 10.5W tires.
Good luck
