Will the transbrake function in a PG in second gear? My car acted very funny Sat. night, I did leave on the transbrake (although very soft) but the Big Stuff shows no 1-2 shift and the rpms thru the run were not normal. Thanks for any insight!

I don't believe so as the tb usually engages Rev. against 1st gear.

That's what I thought, I think I have other "issues".

Do you think it may have been blowing through the converter. I know we had a converter that slipped 18% and it only dropped 500 RPM on the shift.

NOS-Nelson,
The car had a 1.20 sixty earlier in the night. Second round it left with 9# of boost and had a 1.50 sixty and never turned more than 7700 rpm thru the 1/8. The car acted like it left in second or shifted somehow at the hit. Air shifted with the MSD at 7800. It didn't spin the tires though, just left like a turd! The car was in high gear when I made the turn-off. WTF?

Most valve bodies have the transbrake circuit fed in low position only but some feed in low and high (high gear only transbrake) seen mostly in dragsters. Sounds more like you just had an air shifter hickup and it shifted at the release of the transbrake. Check all your shift linkage , especially low and high as that could be off a little as well.
